Dear Desert Valley Hospital I am writing to share our experience
During our recent visit. While the medical care provided by the RN’s, Respiratory tech and overall team was very much appreciated I was disappointed with the way communication was handled by the specialist, particularly concerning the way he approached my wife when communicating with her. The doctor seemed to lack empathy when addressing my family’s questions and concerns. Additionally, we felt pressured to make a difficult decision regarding our critically ill family member without the necessary support or guidance. The interactions felt dismissive, leaving us anxious and unsupported during an already challenging time. Before she was intubated and transferred to the ICU the Social Worker there in the 2nd floor kept insisting in discharging her tho my mother-in-law did not feel capable of even sitting without her breathing being affected. The Social worked lady kept pressuring my wife to choose a transportation plan to discharge my mother-in-law and insisted to my wife to choose right there and then and it wasn’t until my wife kept insisting on her mother to stay that the social worker suggested to do some sort of test to see if she was able to withstand being in the sitting position tho my wife had said that her mother was not capable of doing so in her condition plus she had a UTI, my wife then agreed but did not know such test was going to be done without her being present (my wife), she thought such test was going to be conducted in her presence during visiting hours. Next thing we know the test as conducted after hours that Monday Night (no one was allowed to stay overnight not even the next to kin) by the next morning Tuesday my mother-in-law had been intubated and was sedated until she passed. Effective communication is crucial in healthcare, and it was disheartening to experience such a lack of understanding. I hope this feedback helps improve future interactions for other patients and their families.

i wanna rate it 0 start but that’s not possible so i give a 1
This place is not good at all. came in for a ingrown toenail that i’ve had for the past 5 months, it’s gotten so bad that i can’t even walk nor work, i decided to come to the ER for a quickly and easy procedure. i came in, waited about over for a couple hours , got called in to the room and waited about 30-45mins for a answer, this doctor told me that my nail wasn’t bad enough to remove, when my toe has a infection , looks horrible , been leaking blood and it wasn’t good enough. the service was horrible , i rather die in bed than resort to coming here.

I canceled surgery
I had clearance from cardio Dr, for hip replacement surgery but could never get my phone calls answered as to surgery date. Finally went to the hospital to talk to Jennifer, she had a surgery date. if they are that lax in responses do I want them performing surgery on me.

If I can put no stars I would
I had covid and was told to come every 2 days to see how my pregnancy was doing because I passed my due date so they were expecting me. I had the worst pain in my life so I knew I was having my baby that day. I went to the hospital and they kept telling me to go back home that I wasn’t having the baby today but I begged them to keep me because I knew I was having the baby that day, hrs went by so they were asking me questions so they can release me (I was still begging to stay) while being asked questions I was telling asking to give me oxygen or epidural (was ignored) I was told “no you can not because your being sent home” I ignored the lady and stared screaming from the pain and told her it was burning, she checked but she looked annoyed with me and when she looked she said it was baby’s head and she ran yelling out for more people and I had the baby on my own, no one pulled him out of me no one gave me oxygen when I needed it because I couldn’t breathe no one did nothing until 15 mins after I had the baby, I was given a chocolate cake as an apology.. horrible never having kids there again, I started going to st Mary’s after that

"Death Valley Hospital"
I have lived in the area my whole life. I have gone here for emergency's and I have had family and friends die here. The staff are rude (probably due to being understaffed and over worked) and very unempathetic. They call it "Death Valley hospital" for a reason. I would rather be brought to the vet or catch the long black train then go to this hospital in an emergency.
