I just hope this doesn’t happen to other patients
I don’t usually post reviews but had one of the worst experiences at this hospital. I’m a cancer patient and was having excruciating pain. So I came to the hospital. Doctor who saw me was kind and ordered medicine and test for me. However, 3 hours later I hadn’t received anything and was still in excruciating pain. I kept asking the nurses at the check in desk and they at first said there was too many patients and not enough nurses. Then they said they were going to check on the order. Finally on the last attempt they said they saw the order but they couldn’t do anything since they clocked out half an hour ago (3am on may 8th) or else they would give me the medicine. One of the nurses got up to check while the other nurse said “she just wants to leave.” I’m already going through so much and just needed help. These nurses were constantly on their phones so it’s no wonder they weren’t on top of the patients orders. Just horrible experience. I said i think at this point I could just wait for my doctors office to open to get help and the nurse said “that very well could be the case.”

How is that legal, I dont know
If you are not ready to sell your arms and legs.. better stay away from this place. A simple 30 min consult visit is being charged $700, even with good insurance your still out of pocket $300-400. Their billing rep is not very helpful as well in explaining the details of the charges.

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My 72 year old brother fell on the sidewalk while walking home from a nearby restaurant. Paramedics were called by good Samaritans and the paramedics insisted on taking him to UCI Medical because he had a cut above his eyebrow and it was considered a head trauma and they said Hoag would not deal with it. We were at the ER at UCI for 5 hours. I only saw the doctor once and she left before stitching his eye. There were about 30 nurses/medical students, staff all chit chatting and not really attending to the patients that were being held in the hallway, not a room. After about 2 hours of waiting, they did a CT scan and 3 hours to get the results read. Finally, medical tape was placed on the cut above his eye and then sent home.

My rating is a ZERO!
The absolute worst for what was once an incredible facility! Went in after a fall. From prior experience, I knew I had once again broke and/cracked my femur. After hours of waiting, diagnostics, etc. They released me and said to go see my PCP for further care because nothing was broken. Later that day, I checked MyChart only to find out I DID CRACK/BREAK my femur and should not have been sent home! Horrible Horrible will NEVER go there again on an emergency basis unless I have no choice!

This is not a good hospital to stay at
I was provided a room with another patient. That is not the problem . The problem I had was that I was told I would be unable to share the restroom facilities, because the other patient required exclusive use of the restroom. So I was provided a portable toilet (bucket) to use. I was never provided toilet paper, only tissue paper. The bucket wasn’t emptied on a regular basis. It was finally emptied after I complained about the odor which was later the first night. I actually found the visitor bathroom on my floor and started using those facilities. I have never experienced anything like this and I hope you never have to. Beware of this place, they don’t seem to care about the environment your placed into after surgery. Not a sanitary environment after washing for three days with antibacterial soap. Don’t understand how this happened.
