The night nurses on duty for me after a cardiac ablation were cold, and unhelpful
No one ever asked me if I was in pain or helped me get off the bed to go to the bathroom several times during the night while I was being given diuretics to eliminate excess fluids from the procedure. Also,, I explained I was hard of hearing and not wearing my hearing aids, and the nurse simply shouted at me in a nasty accusatory way when I said I couldn’t hear what she had said…It was embarrassing and I was made to feel stupid and uncomfortable. I felt unsteady , am 79 years old and was experiencing severe pain. I almost felt guilty every time I had to call them to disconnect me so I could go to the bathroom.. I felt zero compassion or kindness. They did all of the necessary checks on my blood pressure, etc. just like robots. Also, when I was being prepped for the cardiac ablation, the nurses who came to shave me had me laying there completely exposed . Breasts out and pubic area, with two of the welcoming, ‘nurses’ or hosts just standing there,m chatting, looking down on me. It was a most embarrassing uncomfortable experience, Such unprofessional and disrespectful treatment. Complete disregard for me. The rule of thumb for nurses first of all is to be kind to the patient: that didn’t happen. I can understand that it is challenging to work at night as a nurse. But if this turns the care into such hostility, then it’s time to look for a different line of work!

They will bill your visit at extremely high expense
Stay away from them. I visited the doctor at Scripps clinic and he ordered an ultrasound for me. He specifically asked when my ultrasound was done last time so he ordered one that is one year later and should be covered by preventative care. However, the hospital billed me for $2500 as diagnostic and refused to change the code. Ridiculous.

They charged us $869 just to prescribe a single antibiotic
Without even looking at my husband’s face, even though his tooth was severely swollen! Later, they claimed to offer a “payment assistance” and reduced it to $468 — which we paid just for one prescription. But that wasn’t the end of it. They keep sending us bills every single month for no reason. We were clearly scammed just because we don’t speak English well. What kind of scam is this? What kind of inhumanity? Stay far away from this place! Even if your life depends on it, go anywhere else. I truly mean it.

Scripps Memorial was the worst hospital I've every been at in san diego.
Admitted my relative with a broken neck and advanced Parkinsons disease, dementia and delirium. They admitted they forgot his dementia and delirium medicine for 3 days in a row, he went through extreme withdraws (he was on it for 20+ years) cut cold turkey and the nurses responded "while thats just parkinsons". No, it isn't normal to have seizures in a hospital and not do anything. Then, they added a drug while cutting the dose of a different drug in half (also on for 10+ years) at the same time! They then forgot his parkinsons medicine as well for 3 doses. I believe if he stayed, they would have killed him due to neglect and malpractice. Added a medicine that caused increased dementia/delirium, cut his muscle relaxer in half, while fully forgetting his Parkinsons medicine all within 4 days at the same time. Biggest issue, THEY DIDN'T TELL ANYONE IN FAMILY ABOJT ALL THE MEDICATION CHANGES AND MESS UPS! They looked like deer in the headlights and had no clue it was happening when I showed up to him having seizures. Picture showing neglect that they don't change bloody ports for liquids or check to make sure they are working correctly. Don't check medicines and try to release people way to early to get them out. You can't change 3 variables and expect to know why something happened and then act on it. Then, they blamed Parkinsons for their neglect and malpractice when seizures occur. This place will kill you with that philosophy and blame other factors. They will kill you because of neglect and malpractices.

Horrible unprofessional place
Have been misdiagnosed several times and discharge notes do match my initial health complaints. Run from this facility.

It was absolutely humiliating
I was admitted Monday 7/17 while visiting a friend in Oceanside. I had broken my clavicle and 2 ribs while biking along the beach. Once the shift changed, I was treated like a delinquent vagabond under the influence. It was scarring and scary. My credit cards and cash were taken by the staff after the paper work gal took my money clip to get the co-pay. Thank God I’m back home in Texas under the care of my physician, wife, and daughters.

Discharged and had a stroke 2 days later
A good friend was released from Scripps La Jolla after 8 weeks to a post acute care facility. Two days later they woke up unable to use their right arm and leg- they were rushed to nearby Scripps Mercy who found their 8 week treatment for cancer had spread to their brain - how does this get missed in a world renowned facility? Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego staff and nurses were exceptional caring and empathetic and tried their best to save them. Unfortunately my friend passed away recently. As a cancer survivor I don't understand how this happened. This is devastating to many friends and family.
