My birth experience was horrible and traumatic!
I was not aware that this was a teaching hospital. Just like the previous comment said they always changing Dr’s I had to get epidural 4 times !!!! I caught an infection while giving birth, had severe body chills and fever, my blood pressure wasn’t high my whole pregnancy but became high while in labor due to the stress. The Dr’s was horrible, the nursing staff was amazing in post partum though. It just bothered me that nobody knew how to do an EKG when I had other issues occur. I had to advocate for myself being that I am in the medical field and have good knowledge of cardiology. I will not be returning and i will not recommended!!!

Don’t make the mistake of ending up in this hospital
They are severely understaffed, and will leave you waiting on a gurney in a busy hallway for 12 hours, while staff pay you no attention while gossiping, eating, cursing, and laughing while you wait and wait in agony. Plenty of administrative staff waiting around, plenty of security guards, but doctors and nurses are a rarity. My mom was left unmonitored on a gurney for many hours- no electronic vitals monitor or anything. She was forced to get up to go to the bathroom by herself because staff were too “busy”. Thankfully she was at least able to! Patients clearly under the influence were roaming the hallways creeping us out. This place is unsafe in multiple ways. Lawrence hospital despite its own problems was much better. Too bad NYC EMS can’t take you there anymore. Einstein has clearly gone downhill and keeps finding new lows. Take these reviews seriously and for G-d sake find someplace else to take you and your loved ones for care and attention.

I hope no other family has to go through what we experienced
My mother Milagros Diaz (age 65) experience with oncologist Dr. Kaubisch from Montefiore Hospital was devastating, and I feel compelled to share our story so others are aware of the level of care they may receive from him. From the start, (April 2024)the oncologist lacked sensitivity, compassion and wasn’t informative enough as he should've been given the fact that he’s a professional licensed oncologist. He didn’t provide us with all the possible treatment options to treat pancreatic cancer, and my sister and I had to advocate for our mother to ensure he was more involved in her care. Ultimately, my mother only lived four months after her diagnosis. The treatment plan he proposed—shrinking the cancer with chemotherapy to make it operable and then following with radiation—failed. The cancer spread to her lung and spine. My mother had so much fight in her, but in the end, she wasn’t given the proper chance because her care was in the hands of someone who didn’t seem to care and his lack of compassion showed at every visit.

Call the nurse to go to the bathroom and they would never come
Do yourself and loved ones a favor and go to another hospital. They admitted my mother for vertigo dizziness cause she fell at home. They kept her in the hospital for 5 days on the 8th floor and it was a nightmare for her. Some nurses neglected my mother she would call the nurse to go to the bathroom and they would never come. Different doctors came with different opinions and nothing was done for her. All they doing is milking the money out of your insurance. Then she was discharged on the 5th day and nothing was ever done for her. Nothing but students learning. Horrible hospital no communication go somewhere else

Anything owned by Montefiore is garbage
Beds everywhere no one knows where patients are. Makes patients walk and stand in the hallways with IV poles. Don't check to see if the IV is done. Over 8 hours for test results that never come. No food or drinks for the patients after hours of waiting.

I seen true horrors at this place
They'll put you in worse shape than you were when you entered the hospital. I know because I was there for a month. Staff that is incompetent and lazy, a lack of regard for patients, doctors that are nowhere to be found, nurses that use equipment the wrong way or don't know how to use it at all. STAY AWAY! YOUR LIFE LITERALLY DEPENDS ON IT.

This has to be one of the worst ERs I have ever seen!
My father was taken here after a pretty nasty fall. Gurneys everywhere with patients being "cleaned" out in the open. Some were side to side. I barely had a place to stand. My father stood there for FIVE days before he was given a room. Oh and God forbid you have a question or want to talk to a doctor, forget it! I actually called the nurses station from my cell as I stood there because it was the only way to get someone to answer anything. Complete and utter nightmare. I pray my father never has another injury and if he does, I will absolutely advocate he go elsewhere.

I think this hospital is getting away with a lot
Grounds for a Law suit. My sister went to this hospital 11/20/23 she was having seizures I witness two of them while she was in the er. They places her on the 8th floor, for a day or to than I received a call saying they placed her in ICU ON A Ventilator 3 seizure medications & the sedative propofol, they kept her there for for a couple of weeks. Then she was moved to the 4th floor where my sister took her last breath on 12/12/23.This hospital is the worst no real communication with the Dr's. Not once has my family spoken to or seen a neurologist. We requested her cause of death, and they had the nerve to list cause of death Pneumonia and Sepsis. We were never ever told she was Septic. Someone must put a stop to this horrible hospital they also tried to the funeral home who we called them to inform them he was coming to pick up my sister to wait because she was a tissue donor. My sister was never a tissue donor. We will examine my sister well, this hospital is a danger zone. I also feel when they called us up there because they didn't feel my sister would make it through the night 12/12/23 my baby sister was already deceased or close to it. Her lips were already that ashy great color.
