I am lucky to be alive after what happened
I’m not sure exactly where to start. The staff listens to the gossip of other patients and treats them poorly bc of hear say. If someone doesn’t like you , your level of care will be impacted , mine sure has been and I have had to seek healthcare else where. I have been treated poorly by a former in law that used to work in the ED, she has since moved on but her opinion and opinions of other patients have tried to tarnish my reputation resulting in poor care. I was recently in the ICU in another hospital in relation to what Bristol hospital and friends have done to me as a whole. I have also witnessed a male nurse in the ED lose his patience on someone detoxing that is there often. There is a huge stigma around mental health and drug addiction and the staff at Bristol hospital is very opinionated, and decides how they are going to treat someone that suffers from mental health and or substance abuse . I have always been polite to the staff at Bristol hospital I’ve never even been arrested in my entire life and they treat me like a druggy or a criminal . It is so sad that people like myself can’t get the level of care I need bc of all of you passing judgment. You should be ashamed of yourself for what you have done to me and other people seeking help at your establishment. I have since found a organization that is helping me. Bristol hospital pushed me away on purpose without caring what was to happen to me. How is anyone supposed to improve their lives with constant judgment.

Billing dept refuses to assist stating since we weren't admitted
Hospital scam!! In July this year my wife and I had an emergency visit, my wife is pregnant and she was bleeding, we thought we were losing our baby, I had an accident where I couldn't bend my knee due to a fall and I thought a muscle or tendon broke. Later we received our bills expecting to pay according to our benefits of coverage through insurance, now we have $4k bills because they coded our visit as outpatient hospital for the establishment but the provider, the tests we had done and medicine was coded as emergency. Mixed charges on both of our bills, was not considered "emergency", so why we have mixed charges again, is one or the other. Please review your bills, pretty sure we're not the only ones.

My rights were violated and no one helped me
I was brought to this hospital and in the ER stated I didn't want a male nurse taking care of me because I was assaulted in the past by a male medical staff at Yale's ER. The male nurse who was supposed to take me found out and had a public tantrum in the hallway in front of staff, patients and me. I found the staff to be rude, none of the female nurses were nice. They snapped at me. I wanted to leave and the staff physically prevented me from leaving. I was not suicidal or homicidal, but I was kept despite my wishes to leave. I was threatened with security and despite telling them I didn't give them rights to put hands on me they still did. The staff lied to me why they wanted to take blood and urine. I have to take certain medications every six hours or I get really sick. I asked for my meds from around 11pm till 3am. I finally fell asleep and was awoken by a very tall large male nurse giving me my medications 3.5 hours late. I was not to have alone contact with male staff and they knew it. I felt violated even though the male nurse was nice and didn't touch me. I didn't feel safe at this hospital.
