Left my husband bleeding after procedure
After my husband's procedure @9 am he was left in recovery steadily bleeding from the surgery site. Their were only 2 nurses in recovery one was Fay which did nothing but talk on everyone else's back. My husband stayed laying on his back until 5 o'clock that afternoon when fay called dr burklands student dr in and said my husband would have to admitted cause they could not stop the bleeding. I asked the student dr if they could give my husband something for pain and he said yes he would see to it. Well 2 hours went by and still nothing for pain. When I asked fay the nurse about why there was no pain meds she told me the dr did not call anything in and had already left for the day. I asked her to call dr Burkland to get something for pain and she told me dr burkland had already handed my husband over to the floor dr. Once we finally got to the 2 or 4th floor we could not have been better taken care of. Come to find out dr burkland was on the phone with the 2 nurses all night cause my husband was still bleeding it did not stop until 5 am the following morning. I think it was uncalled for that there were only 2 nurses in recovery cause 1 nurse for sure did not care about the patients FAY. And that my husband went in for a heart procedure and was in so much pain from laying flat on his back fir so long that he had the bed shaking and was left in pain with no medication. We were both very disappointed

ER experience makes me hope & pray that I never have to return to this hospital
Beyond my ER experience, the care on the intermediate care unit, at least with the nurses, was so much better. Unfortunately, I had no orders for my daily meds, let alone meds I needed for pain management & nausea. I literally had to take my own daily meds I happened to bring with me on the 1st night. Completely ridiculous. It took hours for my nurse to even get the orders for IV fluids let alone the meds I needed. I did not sleep at all that night. I was exhausted & absolutely terrified about my ER experience & that my blood pressure was outrageously high & I was still tachycardic. The next day I had a consult with a colo-rectal surgeon who ordered another CT with drinkable contrast. I finally got the contrast to drink, was given Zofran to help with the nausea but then it took more than 3 hours from the time I finished drinking the contrast for someone to come get me for the scan. All that time trying to hold in the contrast because supposedly they only had one patient transporter for radiology that day. Not MY problem!! That was ridiculous. Finally had my regular med orders for the 2nd night so that was a relief. I have nothing negative to say about the care I received by my nurses on this floor. They were very attentive and caring.

Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this hospital
The lack of communication, delays in care, poor cleanliness, and unprofessional appearance made this a very disappointing visit. My husband was brought to this hospital by ambulance after being referred from TopCare Minor Emergency. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The nurses only put the monitors on his fingers, checked his blood pressure, and collected blood and urine samples. His urine sample sat on the bedside table for about two hours. When I asked a nurse about it, she simply told me it was fine. My husband needed medication for severe acid reflux. We were repeatedly told they would ask the doctor, but after waiting over two hours, nothing happened. My husband finally had to get up and look for the doctor himself to request the medication. We eventually left the hospital without the doctor ever coming to properly examine my husband or explain his condition or test results. The cleanliness of this hospital was also unacceptable. It was very dirty. I have seen public hospitals that are much cleaner than this one. I was also surprised to see a nurse named Chantel working while wearing bright pink house slippers instead of appropriate work shoes.

Terrible patient care in the OR
I was in extreme pain as they strapped me down to the table and not much was done to help mitigate the situation. Too much to write here but if scheduled to have a Cardiac Cath here you might want to find a different facility.

Just terrible place that I won’t go there anymore
I was told that my visit payment is only $40, I confirmed over the phone and three times during the visit, and just one week after the visit I got bill of $377 ?!! Plus the charges were duplicated?! It’s literally SCAM and stealing. They also charged for the doctor who read the report (without telling me) how would I know that?? Plus the front desk staff started asking about my race?! Background and my religion?! What this has to do with my visit?! I called the billing number below, and no response, I called many times, and left voice message.

Nightmare
DO NOT go to this hospital! Went for an ovarian torsion. Told them what it was. Told the dr I had 2 emergency surgeries for this exact thing. Ordered a test for kidney stones. Wasted time. Finally get the ultra sound and sure enough I was right. Pain was never fully managed at any point. Was taken for emergency surgery and was taken to the wrong place. Was told I would then be having surgery in the morning. Then the surgeon had to come find me to take me to the right place. The list of issues would be impossible to list here. Am currently waiting to get prescriptions for after my surgery and no one at the hospital knows anything. I asked one nurse to leave a note to the surgeon to contact us when the prescription would be called in and she told me that the doctor does not read patient notes because he was to busy. That alone is horrific. So don’t be me sitting at home after emergency surgery with no support and a hospital that does not take any ownership of patients or of their own processes.

The lack of treatment or care I received was terrifying and de-humanizing
I was dismissed, treated for issues I did not have, while they ignored the respiratory distress that brought me in. I was talked down to, neglected and made to feel that my health had no value. The only bright spot was 2 very kind night nurses, who did what they could to make me comfortable while waiting for a doctor to put in any orders to help me.
