They do not take anything as an emergency
Don't recommend going to the ER unless you want to die. How do you sit in a ER for over 12 hours and all the nurse can say is she don't want to be there either.

This is absolutely unacceptable
I have been to the Cleveland clinic Akron general ED twice in 20 years. Both time, after hours of waiting, I left without being seen. A PA sticking his head in the triage room is not valid treatment.

Dont go to this place and give them your hard earned money
This facility is understaffed by at least HALF of what is required. The ER wait times are the worst in the country. You could drive from Ohio to Mexico and get faster help. Many who have true emergencies are left sitting 10-15 hours in the waiting room while nobody in the back triage rooms are doing any work. They never have rooms available because the staff moves in slow motion. They don’t have enough staff to get people checked out or have rooms cleaned to get new patients in. The executives of Akron General should receive no pay until these issues are resolved. It’s a horribly run hospital. It’s not the nurses or Drs, it’s the Cleveland clinic bureaucracy and how they mismanage the operations. You’ll likely leave sicker if you can even get in to be seen

In the business of medicine to charge your insurance and keep you sick
Cleveland clinic kept me sick for 7 years, causing me loose a position at the bank. I feel I was mis diagnosed. Kept coming in due to general feeling of being unwell. Lower abdominal pain. Charts showed elevated c reactive proteins which indicates and active infection. Yet with all that technology and labs ithe infection was left untreated. They will treat your symptoms. Nausea meds etc tell you, you need anti depressants. Bought antibiotics treated myself and symptoms subsided. End of story what took them 6/7 years, I figure out on my own in way less time. …Acute bacterial Prostatitis Cleveland clinic is in the business of medicine to charge your insurance and keep you sick. And also endanger the public they get negative 5 stars and should be shut down.

Akron General was a wonderful hospital until CC took over
I couldn't be more disappointed! I was taken in by EMS for loss of consciousness with a seizure. I waited with EMS 30 mins before triage. They insisted I have chest xrays, which i didn't need, did a CT and bloodwork, threw me in a wheelchair and took me out to the waiting room where I sat for 7 hours. 7 HOURS!!! All of those test results had already posted to MyChart. When I went up to the window to ask if I was ever going to be seen, the lady didn't even look up at me she continued looking at her phone and rattled off the "...it's not based on arrival it's based on acuity " and shooed me along like a pesky fly in her face. It was disgusting to say the least. I asked for my IV to be removed so I could leave. It was amazing how quickly a nurse came out to remove it. My dogs get better treatment from their vet than I received from the world renowned Cleveland Clinic. My entire medical team are CC drs so I feel like I don't have a choice but if you're reading this and have the luxury of choice then I highly recommend you choose a different hospital when you need care!

One of the worse places I’ve been
ER staff Was RUDE and have no bed side manners both rushed through the assessment and falsified their documentations on my intake the tech Jacob B, place a butterfly needle sideways in my arm while drawing blood it was the worse experience on top of waiting over 4 hours after this happen I walked out who wants to be treated by people like this

Never go here if you have an emergency
I waited 5 hours in excruciating pain without care in the WAITING ROOM. There was another lady who waited 11 hours. They weren’t adamant about providing care or help to any of their urgent patients and the nurses and front desk helpers could care less about our pain. I was lied and promised help in 30 mins and that obviously wasn’t a case no one checked in on me or any others. Such a shitty experience and ass of a Cleveland clinic facility.

Won't be sad to see the fall of Cleveland Clinic
I wouldn't even give a 1 star. Even a year after my birthing experience I still am traumatized. The nurses will belittle you and the doctors don't care. My son has a scar on his head because the doctor popped my water 3 times then tried to say it was due to something I did while pushing, funny since I never got to pushing before they messed up my epidural and sent mine and my sons heart rates lowering. On top of that, put my son in NICU then wouldn't answer any questions, then the cherry on top they messed up my billing. Do better, and at least be accountable for your mistakes. Ps your customer service also sucks.
