I’m very upset
My mom was on hospice. She had open sores to come on her feet. The hospice nurse neglected to call in her antibiotics and ointment for wound care. She sent me a text saying it was on its way. Never showed up the next day. It’s lost in the mail she was gonna re-order it never came through. My mom ended up with a very high white count and started getting lethargic. I noticed that she was getting a rash on her legs. I was scared that it might be sepsis. She was getting very lethargic and wasn’t responding or hardly talking. Needless to say I called the ambulance. They take her to Johnston and Willis hospital And have enough nerve to say that she was overmedicated excuse me, but that’s not the case I would never ever hurt my mother in anyway shape or form I love my mom. These people do not know what they’re talking about. In fact my mom couldn’t even drink water. That’s how bad she was so how could she be overmedicated But yet they release her and say on there for me to continue the wound care and called her in an antibiotic it all stems from the sores on her feet and neglect, and putting it off on me thinking that I would ever hurt my mother or the over medicate my mother They’re crazy. I’m a business owner of 35 years in Chesterfield County. I had to shut my business down and bring it home over two years ago so I could care for my mother. Does that sound like somebody that would Medicaid anyone very upset will never go back to Johnston Willis Hospital and I suggest to anybody if you love your loved ones stay away from Johnston and Willis. They’re no good. also needed to say that my mom said when she was in the emergency room, they came in and took her blood sugar which she is diabetic. It was down to 75 and the man whispered she will not let me release his name because she really liked him that it was 75 and they brought her an ice cream that was in the ER before she was admitted now earlier that day when she was acting lethargic, her sugar was down to 90. My mom usually runs in the high hundreds or low 200s for someone that has sugar that runs high and it drops too low. It can be very crucial as I gave my mother something to eat after that her apricots and I gave her a piece of rye bread with butter and that brought her sugar back up obviously between the infection in our feet. Her blood pressure also dropped from 88/44 Her fever got up to 104 points one of these people why do they hide stuff? There’s nowhere on our papers that they sent home about her sugar they make it look like she was overmedicated which is not true.

Never received a bill from the hospital yet a bill was sent to collections
I paid my $400 copay. The incorrect mailing address was entered in the system. The physicians bill was sent to me via text. I called immediately to let them know that the mailing address was incorrect and needed to be corrected. That was never done! I paid the psyicans bill. Months later I received a call from a collection agency about an outstanding bill. The address on the bill still had not been corrected. The hospital never attempted to call me. My insurance paid over $8000. I paid a $400 copay. The physicians bill was another $300. And the hospital still wants another $1800. I spent less than 2 hours in the ER. My visit would have probably been shorter if the nurse did not forget that I needed labs. No scans, no xray, just had blood drawn and and IV got a prescription for meds. Biggest regret this year was to go to that hospital!

Received the worst care in my whole life here
My doctor was rude and had grown out pink acrylic nails(I don’t know her name). She asked why I even came to Johnston Willis if my care team was at VCU at didn’t have any interest insinuating that I wasn’t going to get proper care (or she really didn’t want to bother caring for me). I guess shaming me for going to different hospitals when I have epilepsy and little control where others take me) I have asked family members to never bring me here even if I might be dying because everyone here is just rude and defensive, they would probably just tell me to go to VCU then too. The doctor lied to my mom about even doing a neurological exam properly which was done at VCU. Don’t be a doctor if you don’t like helping people. I’m filing a grievance, not that anyone at JW cares but I shouldn’t have to pay for someone to tell me I need to go to another hospital. Unless you have someone actively dying go to VCU. Thanks for nothing. They missed the fact my brain tumor grew twice, got defensive about that when I mentioned it to the doctor and also blamed it on me not going to VCU. One of their neurosurgeons misdiagnosed me too a few years back.

Nurse was 5 hours late with my pain medication after cervical spine surgery
Thats right, FIVE hours late with my pain med. Her excuse that she was "with another patient" seemed hollow, and I don't believe she was being truthful. The whole point for the overnight stay was to ensure the pain med was effective before going home for a 12-week recovery, so she very effectively created more discomfort for me than necessary by her inattention. My worst hospital experience ever. If I could give a "0" rating, I most certainly would.

I did not like my experience with this hospital at all
First time mother never thought I could have kids because of health issues since I was a child that followed through my adult hood. Anyways I had a substance problem 5 years ago I take medicine very low dose as when I found out I was pregnant I stopped my regular dose on my own my birth doctor even told me not to quite fully. The hospital treated me like a junkie instead of a first time mother.. I really regret my choice for my care and hospital I went to all my family and people I know went to this hospital so I was treated the way I was because I was treated as I wasn’t a rehab patient but a addict I even was being questioned in my c section about white dots on my arms talking about their lights are these special lights. I understand making sure my baby was safe and taking the precautions but all they had to do was be up front about what they were doing and at first they had me thinking my child was being taken away from me it was aweful I was there almost 8 days hardly any sleep because I was even scared to send her to the nursery the way they made me feel I only let her leave with one nurse for a few hours.

I wouldn't take my dog here
Arrived here in a traumatic situation after a car accident and the nurses were - 1: only worried about calling the police rather then checking me out 2: all deer in headlights 3: not comforting at all. How do you have nurses that cannot deal with a traumatic situation and are all stunned? I had to be transported to Chippenham but all HCA facilities are a joke. Go to MCV - VCU Health I am currently getting things fixed again on my body from the incompetence of HCA facilities.

"doctor" never once examined me after mva
I was admitted to the ER at Johnston Willis hospital after a car accident and was told I would be overseen by a Dr. Hoffman. This "doctor" never once examined me. He introduced himself and then said he would be back to check on me. I did not see him again until he barely popped his head in my room and said I was fine and would be discharged. I had blacked out for a period of 18 minutes according to the EMT and awoke on the gurney in JW's ER. This Dr. Hoffman never laid a hand on me. So, here I sit at home with a fractured rib (confirmed by a private orthopedic doctor) and post-concussion syndrome while nearly losing my job because the original "doctor" (Hoffman) did not address these diagnosis's in my stay/discharge paperwork.

Never again will I go to this hospital!!
The doctor Lauren Lomaka and her nurse were rude and inconsiderate. They made me feel like I was dumb for coming in but my obgyn made it seem like my thyroid was dangerously high and I needed to get to a doctor. I don't have a pcp right now because I can't find one so I went to the ER.
