This is a horrific place
After spending 27 hours in the ER my husband was finally taken to his room upstairs. They did a procedure on him this morning that I didn't know they were going to do today. When this particular procedure they can damage your esophagus and I really hope they have not caused any damage. I was trying to get an update on my husband and the rude ignorant male I spoke to told me if I don't have legal medical power of attorney that they cannot give me any information. THAT IS A BALD FACE LIE. I have never in my almost 70 years been treated so rudely by people in the medical profession as I have been treated by these so called medical professionals. My husband was cleared for discharge today to be taken back to his skilled nursing facility which is less then a mile from this hospital. In fact you can see the hospital from his facility. He was told they cannot provide him transportation back to the skilled nursing facility until at least 11:00 tomorrow morning. He was in the ER last month and the provided him transportation back to the facility in the middle of the night. I have tried 3 times to get answers from someone in administration to no avail. I have left messages and emails and never so much as gotten any kind of response. This is a horrific place and someone (AMA, Medicare, State of Florida) needs to look into the way patients and their loved ones are treated at this place.

If I could give this hell hole a zero i would
My husband was taken from his skilled nursing facility to the ER at 3:50am this morning and it is now 8:20pm in the evening and he is still in the ER. They said they were admitting him. I do not understand why they continue to admit patients when they have no available beds . All they have to do is stop accepting patients in the ER if they are at capacity. He was taken to the ER because of vomiting blood. He also has pneumonia and a urinary tract infection. I spoke to two nurses in the ER both of who hung up on me. One of them who claimed to be the supervisor down there said the only difference between the little cubicle he is in down in the ER and a hospital room is a window. That is not so because he has no private bathroom in his cubicle in the ER.. I was also told by this so called supervisor that there are 50 people in the ER waiting for beds. She said some people have been waiting 30-50 hours to be moved to their room. There is only one word for this is that is GREED.

Very cold insensitive physician
Dr. Hibah A told me to get over my serious condition. Her exact words words were "get over it and take pain pills for 2 days and deal with it". When trying to make decisions on quality of life and signing a DNR while discussing in tears with her was left speechless after told to get over it. Wore the same dirty gown all week and was laughed at when mentioned it. Same dirty sheets all week. Never changed when asked. Nurses are not personable and when you hit your call button it goes nowhere. They like to tell you often that there are other people that need attention and they may not get to you. That's hard to hear. Doctors are exceptional so your kinda stuck dealing with the rest. Each time I am here it's like this.

I’m truly disappointed with the staff at this hospital, it’s very unprofessional
We were warned not to come here but My fiance was seen at the advent health ER and unfortunately we had no choice but to be here. we sat in the room for about 4hrs before anyone ever came into the room to introduce themselves. We called for the nurse 3 times and no one ever came. I went out to the nurses station to find someone and it’s literally a ghost town. I can hear people laughing in a back room. Not only that, when the nurses walk by you can hear them talking bad about their patients calling them lazy. We are on the 6th floor and truly no one cares about their job here. They don’t even deserve a 1 star.

Please don't risk your health by going to Advent Health
Please don't go here if you care about your health! I went in, was diagnosed with osteomyelitis, lost part of my foot, but still left with the infection & ended up at a different hospital, Tampa General, where I lost more of my foot. My surgeon performed 3 surgeries, with an amputation, skin flap, & skin graft. He did not get the entire infection out & as I found out from my 2nd surgeon at another hospital, he should have had me off my foot for 2 months, but he did the skin graft surgery on a Monday & had me on my feet on Saturday. The special shoe I was given wasn't even providing relief & was rubbing on the bottom of my foot where the skin graft was, so the graft failed because of his incompetence. He also has an incredibly arrogant & horrible bedside manner. He would even blame the nurses for him not putting his wound care orders, instead of taking responsibility. It took them about 3 weeks to figure out why I was still getting such bad fevers. It turns out I'm allergic to Vancomyacin. So the infectious disease doctor just took me off the medicine, even though it was the proper treatment for the infection. The 2nd hospital also gave me Vancomyacin, but just gave me benadryl in advance to reduce my allergic reaction. The internist seemed good at first, but then it became clear he wasn't actually being listening or fighting for me as his patient. They claimed they setup things like PT, my medication, & transport to appointments through their Care360, but it was all a lie. They even tried to claim I refused the service during a phone conversation 2 days after I left, which I never did. Plus instead of them just correcting things, they dug in their heals & refused the service even though I clearly needed it. I even requested a copy of the recording of that supposed conversation, but they won't provide it (which obviously is because the conversation never took place). When being discharged I needed to be admitted to some kind of nursing facility for continued care, but they didn't help me get proper care. I fought the discharge because I knew things weren't right. I even asked to speak to the patient advocate, but I never saw a patient advocate, which is a violation of my patient rights. I even told them they were discharging me to either end up right back in the hospital or dead. I was right! I knew I was right because approximately 2 weeks later I was transported by ambulance to a different hospital. I knew I couldn't trust Advent. In the ER they examined me & took x-rays, & I was proven right. The surgeon did not get all of the infection out, so it was still spreading. They also did so many additional tests, with images & pressure tests on my legs & feet to rule out additional complications. I ended up admitted at the new hospital & my new surgeon, who has a great attitude & bedside manner, performed a 4th surgery removing more of my foot. The new infectious disease doctor had an immediate solution to give me Vancomyacin, & set me up for a nursing facility to get the Vancomyacin, wound care, PT, & the care I needed for recovery.

Overall, it was a tough and unpleasant experience
I had a mixed experience at the emergency department. While the overall service was good during a difficult situation, there were some concerning issues with professionalism. Some nurses and one doctor ignored my calls multiple times, resulting in delayed responses. The doctor, in particular, seemed careless and displayed a lack of professionalism.

FRIGGIN JOKE OF A HOSPITAL. They will lie to your face when it comes to keeping people informed. Rude doctors, uninformed nurses.

They forgot to put an id wrist band on the first visit
On the day of my release after my procedure they didn't take my sugar before leaving. I am an insulin dependent diabetic. When I got home and checked it it was 188.
