Extreme Overcrowding, Hygiene Issues, Privacy Breaches
Excessive Wait Times in the Emergency Department. I visited the Emergency Department at NYU Langone Hospital – Brooklyn and experienced conditions far below expected standards for a modern hospital. There were no available rooms or beds, even for patients needing treatment. Staff continued accepting new patients despite the lack of space. Multiple patients were placed in what appeared to be an area designed for two beds but was instead furnished with approximately 10 chairs. The seating had visible blood stains. Blood draws, IV setups, medication administration, and doctor-patient conversations occurred openly in this shared space. Medical details were audible to everyone nearby, raising serious concerns about patient privacy and HIPAA compliance. We remained in the department for over 12 hours under these conditions

Terrible organization
Very poor service. The only thing they give you is a terrible relationship with the patients. There are practitioners who have no idea what they're doing and are impatient. When they channeled me, they hurt me and I bled, and they weren't kind. I don't recommend this place.

Important Health Advisory #MedicalMalpractice #Epilepsy #PatientAdvocacy #NYU
I feel compelled to share my troubling experience regarding cranioplasty surgery performed at NYU Langone Health. Regrettably, the outcome deviated significantly from my expectations. I encountered a concerning lack of transparency surrounding my diagnosis, leading me to believe that the surgical intervention may have precipitated the onset of epilepsy. I strongly advise individuals considering neuro-surgical procedures at this facility to exercise caution. I have observed alarming trends, including elevated admission rates to the epilepsy ward and disconcerting mortality statistics.Furthermore, I have faced significant challenges in accessing pertinent post-operative information, and my attempts to obtain essential medical records have been obstructed. Consequently, I am currently in the process of enlisting legal counsel to navigate this complex situation. our health is paramount! I urge everyone to remain vigilant and advocate for themselves in medical contexts. HealthCareTransparency #MedicalAwareness #ShareYourStory

No matter what you name this hospital it will still be a bad place
NYU shame on you for a terrible floor where women need to rest. Having couples spend the night and when a complain is made you send the person home. People stay away from this lutheran hospital disguised under the NYU.

This NYU hospital SUCKS
Took my husband to this hospital for pressure on his chest. He had two prior heart attacks. This was the 1st time visiting this hospital at the E.R. Went to park my car, took 30 minutes, came into the E.R and my husband was sitting down at the waiting area with a finger pulse reading, No EKG taken. When someone comes to any ER, they suppose rush him inside to see if theres active heart attack. These people had him sitting in the waiting area for an additional 30 while I'm there with him. Finally a nurse came and called him, I began walking with him and the nurse said I was not allowed to come in because I was considered a visitor. I told this lady I'm the wife and was the one that brought him in. She said I had to wait for him at the waiting area. She did not say can I get your number or nothing. My husband was left at the hallway of the ER for the entire duration. Which all together it was 6 hours or longer. My husband called me after 4 hours to tell me they were keeping him overnight. He stood at the hallway an additional 4 hours because they brought him into a room at the 5th floor. I kept calling the E.R after I left to see how he was doing. 3 hours no answer. Finally at 3am I got a hold of a nurse from the nurses station on the 5th floor. Did not tell me nothing, my husband didn't have breakfast that morning or lunch. He kept asking for a sandwich at the E.R, nothing. I still do not know if they even fed him anything. I know it's affiliated with the clinic he currently attends, however if future emergencies, I would never bring there again. Wow what terrible experience. I got no calls from no doctors, nurses. Nothing.

My experience at NYU Langone Brooklyn left me feeling dehumanized
I recently had a disappointing and distressing experience with Dr. Alexander Stoffan. I sought care for a rare case of acupuncture-induced pneumothorax. While I understand that such cases may be uncommon, Dr. Stoffan made it clear that he had not encountered this condition before in his practice. Unfortunately, rather than approaching the situation with curiosity and empathy, he suggested that I might be exaggerating my level of pain, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. Throughout the interaction, Dr. Stoffan exhibited behavior that came across as rude, pretentious, and dismissive. His tone conveyed a sense of superiority, as though he considered himself the ultimate authority on treatment decisions, without regard for my lived experience or concerns. When I brought up the possibility of racial bias impacting his judgment - an important and valid concern as a person of color - he became visibly upset and abruptly left the room. This reaction felt unprofessional and unconstructive, especially in a medical setting where open communication should be encouraged. A doctor should prioritize compassion, active listening, and humility when treating patients. I hope Dr. Stoffan reflects on this feedback and makes meaningful changes to better support his patients of color in the future.

Shame on NYU Langone administration for discriminating
It has come to the world’s attention they fired a nurse who mentioned the Gaza Genocide during her award speech. When even medical staff, women and children are being targeting, she has every right to!

The treatment I received was inadequate
I had to wait 2 hours for water. I was only given my medication once for the day. I'm required to take them twice a day. I had to 3 hours to see the doctor when I requested an update. I was diagnosed with pneumonia. I was basically ignored in the emergency room. Please improve your services!
