None of my issues were addressed at all and I would have been better off had I stayed home
3 weeks ago I went into the ED with chest pain that radiated down my arm and up into my jaw. After checking in, they drew some blood and had me wait in the lobby. I was eventually taken to a room, but was in the room for hours before being placed on any type of monitor. My blood pressure was 175/100, I didn’t see a doctor for several hours, even after being taken to a room. I was stuck 6 times unsuccessfully for an IV. Eventually the doctor came in and said you aren’t having a heart attack so it’s time to go home. I had been in pain for my entire stay without any type of treatment. The doctor recommended I follow up with cardiology. They came in and gave me a shot of Toradol, and told me to leave, at this point my blood pressure was 185/105. I know this is very high, I asked if it was ok, as my blood pressure is controlled by medication and usually normal. I was asked if I had taken my meds, which I had, and told to just go on home. They provided me discharge paperwork that said to follow up with a family doctor, after verbally telling me to follow up with cardiology. Paper work also said that they had inserted an IV and I had been given fluids, none of which had happened. This was a very bad experience and I would never return to this hospital for any reason. Staff were very rude and seemed to be bothered that I was there. All the nurses were sitting around at their computers , but when asked for anything we were told they were too busy. None of my issues were addressed at all and I would have been better off had I stayed home.
