I was mystified as to how long it took to get adequate help
I came into the emergency room in extreme pain. I was following PT instructions after hip replacement. The exercise dislodged the device and slammed it against the nerves of my right leg. After an ambulance ride, I waited in the emergency room at least an hour, shouting for some help. The nursing staff then slowly administered Narcotics. Even with the strongest narcotic I was still in extreme distress. There should’ve been a doctor on call who could have assessed the situation and solicit help to push the device back into place. My surgeon was in Canada, and apparently they needed to communicate with him. I was three hours in pain before an attending arrived, and with an assistant, I was put me to sleep and they pushed the device back into place. I would hope that there would be Qualified physicians on call to deal with the situation more quickly. I feel that the nursing staff Did everything they could without the proper doctors on call. but I was mystified as to how long it took to get proper instructions and then adequate help.

Wasn’t a good experience
Don’t want to cause drama. I feel like Dr Thornhill ignores my needs because his associate was negligent a few years ago cause my heart doctor gave me the go ahead but he refused me service. I will have to proceed with another hospital. Thank you

I wish I didn’t have even have to give a star because they don’t deserve one.
This place was horrible from the doctors to the nurses to the cleanliness everything it was disgusting they were rude. The doctor wouldn’t even stay in the room and explain to me what was going on he was very nasty. This place is horrible. I wouldn’t even take a sick dog there.

dont waste your time or money on this place.
place was horrible, the nurses were rude and hateful, was put in a room that didnt have a phone that worked (so i couldnt be able to call my brother to come get me in case i was discharged) nurses got hateful when i asked to use the phone to just update my brother about what was going on, 2 doctors that werent suppose to be there, ended up showing up telling me they wanted to do things to my body, i strictly told them no, i was there for a specific medical situation and was waiting on the doctor of that situation to show up to talk to me. i wont ever come back to this place ever again. i was grateful that the doctor i seen was understanding of if i didnt want surgery done. i have severe post traumatic stress disorder from a incident that happened to me 2 years ago and i will never go through with surgery ever again after that. find somewhere better where the nurses and doctors will treat you with respect and be considerate of whatever decision you want to do. tip: always have a cellphone with you in case youre put in a room that doesnt have a working phone.

Completely despicable behavior
If my son hadn't been an emergency c- section I would have never have gone to this place. But because I have been there I can tell you I will never go back and would never refer anyone to go there. Not only were they not a Catholic hospital as advertised and their doctor's, nurses, and staff are all very unprofessional. They turned me in to CPS with false claims of drug use that was proven false by CPS.

The weakest, least trusted health care system in our region
Our latest experience was with St. Joseph main hospital, and for starters, it is the ONLY health care provider that failed to seek ANY feedback from us after a recent surgical procedure there. That fact is surprising, disappointing, and alarming. While there were a couple of fine nurses we met during our time at the hospital, others were inept -- or worse. We now see why ratings of the hospital are the poorest in the Lexington area. Even a task as simple as registration was not conducted professionally. Arriving at an appointed time for pre-surgery testing, I sat for an hour and 15 minutes just waiting to be registered by a clerical employee. From what I saw, that wait time appears to be the rule rather than the exception. Many of the problems and serious shortcomings of the hospital could be solved with relatively simple and straight-forward solutions by any skilled, competent manager. For more serious clinical deficiencies, much improved employee screening, selection, and training will be required. This is the second CHI facility with which we have had a bad experience, and we will work to ensure that we do not visit any of their facilities in the future.

They say they gave a patient something when they didn’t!
They take forever to give someone a pain pill after getting a leg cut off. Doctors are great, but most of the nurses are not good.
