This was not care - it was neglect
Do NOT go here for an emergency! My recent visit to Holmes Regional emergency room visit was one of the most dehumanizing experiences of my life. I was placed in a crowded hallway crammed with dozens of patients lined up head to toe, all within earshot of one another. My “bed” was directly in front of a custodial cleaning closet, with staff dragging trash and supplies in and out. There was zero privacy, equipment was mishandled, and test results were never explained. It felt chaotic, unsafe, and outdated — not modern healthcare. For hours I was left without food, water, or even a proper chair for my parents. A nurse tried to discharge me without a doctor, and when I insisted, I was only seen in a noisy cubicle with a curtain in the waiting area. Patients deserve dignity, privacy, and compassion, not to be left in hallways and cleaning closets like forgotten numbers.
