AVOID THIS HOSPITAL.
Went in for stomach pains that woke me up in the night. They did scans and said everything was fine probably just heartburn or muscle spasms (they used a new nurse for my labs and he messed up my veins) They recommend i go to the obgyn. I went to get scans through my dr and turns out i have huge stones in my gallbladder.

This hospital messed up in the beginning and is now trying to cover their tracks.
I am giving 1 star and this is pushing it. I work in the system. My family member was sent to this establishment and they ignored the primary cause of his illness for a month. The doctors refuse to listen and so do the nurses. Due to their ignorance my family member has endured surgeries and grave complications. The hospital tells us they cannot do anything and yet they refuse to transfer them to higher level of care ( somebody who can). They even told us that ambulances dont have ventilator capabilities which is not truthful. They tell us transferring the patient isnt an option because of insurance or because we are asking it doesnt work like that. I know how the system works. We have tried to talk to risk management and the cno but cant get a call back. Instead my family member endures worsening treatment and horrible attitudes in retaliation. They even had the audacity to move my family member in the middle of an honor walk which scared the kid that they were taking him to surgery to steal his organs. The nerve. My hospital would never move a patient during an honor walk like that. They should be ashamed. I hope and pray that nobody has to endure what we have at this facility ever again. They have broken so many ethical oaths.

This hospital is one of the worst
The nurses are rude uncaring and very unprofessional I never recommend this hospital but unfortunately if you don't have insurance it's one of the only places you can go so be warned that this place is not a place of caring it's a place of health and attitude

My advice follows a few other one star reviews
I was finally discharged on 07/29. Insist on going somewhere else if you’re being transferred from a quick care facility and if you’re going to a hospital of your own recognizance, go somewhere else and make sure Sunrise is the absolute last resort. It actually pains me to speak so negatively because I’ve been a patient here before due to an open heart surgery and the care I received then was top notch. It’s pathetic to see how far they’ve fallen.

Nursing staff gave my information to people I don't even know
Doctor and nursing staff here violated HIPAA while I was a patient here. I'm not paying the emergency department bill on account of you violated HIPAA while I was under your care. Doctors and nursing staff did nothing to ensure my safety as a patient. They kept me in danger by giving my personal information out when it is against HIPAA policy. I gave no consent. You are not getting a dime out of me. If you want money out of me then you're going to have to tell the judge that you violated HIPAA and that's why I'm not paying you. I'm going above your head and report it. Launch an investigation on the corruption done by your staff.

They are not being truthful
My father was admitted into the ICU on June 22, 2024. All his family lives out of state, but we were present for three weeks. Once we returned home things drastically changed in terms of his care and updates regarding his health. Suddenly they are saying my father, who was intubated and extabated, sleeping 90% of the time not eating and non verbal just sat up on day 6 and asked them not to provide updates to me. Yet they are telling my son that his voice is hoarse and hard to hear or understand. They have not done much for his recovery if he is asleep when PT goes by his room they keep going. I can't get a straight answer about his meds. The case manager Lourdes doesn't call you back. I spoke to the head nurse who asked if I was there? Why would you ask that? Shouldn't he get the same level of care regardless? I just want the best care for my father. He is a 76 year old Vietnam Veteran with severe PTSD who is highly disoriented. If they tell me he requested that I not be given updates it makes their jobs a heck of a lot easier.

This place did something to me
I don't know what, but I can feel it. I know it's because I don't have insurance and I'm broke. But I'm a sick person. I can't help it if I need to go to the hospital. I really do try to avoid going. I do try my hardest to take care of myself but I'm still a sick person regardless. They just made me even worse...You know, one of these days you guys are going to murder the wrong person.

Doctor insisted on repeating the same testing
Was at a different hospital earlier this week for a cardiac issue, had a x ray and bloodwork done, those showed fine but I’ve continued to worsen and was told to go back to the hospital by every out patient doctor I’ve seen. Last hospital wanted to do an echo but I figured I would see my cardiologist for it, my cardiologist cancelled so I went to sunrise hospital in desperation for other testing. I told the doctor that I’m not getting better, waking up gasping for air, having bad heart palpitations and I need more testing because I feel something is seriously wrong. Doctor refused to do the echo or any more testing and insisted on repeating the same testing I had before and then discharge me. So I left. I’ve had this work up done before and I needed a doctor to be there and be understanding to do more tests. Also I would like to state, they had a huge HIPPA violation. They put me in a room with another patient to discuss all of my health information with her sitting right next to me.
