They don’t care about the results of their mistakes
Horrible, never have I had a bad health provider experience until I was unfortunately referred to BJC. I went in for a full body MRI, and the technician used too short of an IV tube, so whenever the bed slid backwards into the machine to scan my lower body, the short IV tube was fully suspended in the air, not touching the surface of the machine because of how intense the tension was. This caused a nasty pain and even nastier scaring. Even worse, the emergency button was not working. No one came in, and the procedure didn’t stop. When I brought up the MRI scenario to my providers on MyChart, had no luck getting assurance on not being assigned the same MRI tech again (I’m forced to go to BJC, no other specialists for my hyper-specific situation in MO. I just want BJC to figure out what went wrong so I can be comfortable treating my rare tumors). Patient & family affairs pretended to do an investigation over a month+ long period, I’ve yet to get any actual information from that besides the corporate equivalent of “I’m sworry” contained in the resolution letter. The letter had no specifics on my case and could have been sent to anyone for any complaint. Just swap names & departments and the letter works for any situation. The letter contains a number to call for more info but they never respond even after a month. Their “investigations” mean nothing.

Predatory, fraudulent billing practices
Beware don’t pay co-pays prior to procedure or getting an itemized bill and don’t agree to anything without a price quote these people are money hungry and don’t care who or how they scam someone for it, tripled the cost of a procedure I had been doing here for years, no warning prices were tripling, just sprung it on me, also slow walked the billing process so that I wouldn’t discover price increases until they had me on the hook for 3 more procedures and of course they blamed the insurance, well the truth is they manipulated the billing codes so they could charge more. Good riddance’s BJC!

Absolutely not Barnes!
Every level of this hospital is subpar. Every single person I have spoken to is rude and condescending. I wouldn’t recommend this medical center. Being a 35 year healthcare professional I’ve found everyone I’ve interacted with rude and disrespectful. Good luck with this healthcare system! Never again!! I’ll stay home and hope for the best! I will drive back to a major midwestern city for care

Hateful, rude, negligent nurses
Leaving a friend to die and won't even let him have his laptop so he can talk to his family. Evil. Would rate lower if I could.

I intend to sue
I am presenting an impartial review based on FACTS; Barnes Jewish needs an internal evaluation of their processes and implementation of medical services. I was assaulted by BJC law enforcement. I went into the downtown location to request medical assistance. An officer approached Me & without provocation body slammed Me to the ground. Aware of My rights, I called to report the officer. The hospital refused to acknowledge My account and was blatantly intolerant. I will NOT support any institution which denies US to the basic human right of medical attention with CARE!

Sent me a bill for almost $4k didn't even try to bill my insurance
My insurance is one that works with BJH. Honestly would have skipped the MRI if I had known finance/insurance would be this kind of headache, which it isn't anywhere else I've gone. Just go somewhere else. BJC is horrible overall.

I got the vibe that they were just trying to dump the patient
The staff here are a joke. Lyft drivers are not taxis. Nurse put a patient in my car, told me her full name (we shouldn't know that info), and sent me off to a rehab center that was gated without any info on how to get into it. The passenger was incoherent and had no phone, said, "They didn't tell me anything about that." I'm a good guy and didn't want to leave her stranded while she was clearly going through it, so I took it upon myself to try to figure out where we even were and what the phone number for this rehab center was. (I'm a driver, not a delivery person, nor a babysitter). She started asking me to take her to other addresses, which I was absolutely uncomfortable with. Also would have been unpaid. (Again, this is my job, and that's stealing money from my pocket). I was forced to take her back, unpaid, which could have easily turned into a sketchy or hostile situation because I have a stranger in my car with no information. I get back there and find the case worker, a woman with blonde hair. She could not have cared less about the situation. Just kept telling me "well we didn't order the lyft. It was the rehab center." OK? I never said you did. It was YOUR nurse who put her in MY car with no information for ME - the person driving and obviously tasked with getting into the parking lot to drop her off - on how to get through the gate for where you're sending me. If you didn't get that info from the rehab center, that's 100% your fault. Do your job, please. I'm doing mine. I got the vibe that they were just trying to dump the patient onto someone else so they wouldn't have to deal with her because she was a black woman with a drug addiction. Sad. Do better. It's not actually that hard to be a good person.
