Worst ER in the state of Missouri
Have been at the ER literally 12 hours and in that time there have been 0 updates throughout the entire process. Slow staff, slow process, expect to wait its ridiculous.

Unacceptable subpar care
Not okay. My father was taken there for a higher level of care, only to be told nothing could be done for his heart. The first nurse we had was amazing, talented and caring. My father was placed on hospice but left in the ICU care. The next nurse we had, Julia, was hardly ever on the ICU floor, I would see her off walking around when I went to the cafeteria. I would say we saw her twice in an 8 hour day. (no care besides pain meds) We discussed trialing taking my dad off of sedation. To my surprise, she turned off my father's sedation and walked out of the room. The respiratory tech changed some settings on his vent and he walked out of the room. We were left there to deal with my dad coming out of sedation, combative and scared. It was torture and I will never forget it. He was pulling at his vent tube and thrashing around...we had to yell out for the staff to do their jobs. I will never be back.

I’m never going back. No one could pay me. I’m traumatized
Worst hospital experience of my life here, and I’ve given birth with no epidural elsewhere. The people in the ER, do NOT listen! They do what the heck they want. I went there for stomach/GI issues. They treated it as a heart issue, but never helped me with the actual issue. Told me my heart was good and then involuntarily admitted me to the behavioral health because I had a few words about how bad it felt dealing with this issue with no relief for over a year when they asked if I’d harm myself. No! If I would, would I be there trying to get help? I repeatedly said I’d never hurt myself or anyone else’s when asked and I’ve never made any attempts on my or anyone else’s life. This area was filthy! Lord knows I was so disgusted, I did NOT use the rest room while there. I’ve since (figuratively) burned the clothing they allowed me to put back on after I could take off the paper one they forced on me. Imagine being in so much pain, you can’t sleep. So you go to the ER and end up in the psych ward, still in pain and being treated like a severely mentally ill psych patient. I’m ill, but not that type of ill. I was there from morning 3:30am until almost 2pm until they realized I didn’t belong there. Meanwhile, I missed work because of this nonsense and again, I’m still left in pain with the original issue I came there for. Waste of my time! Pay be Mercy! Or give it to the nurses in that area. I’m positive they aren’t paid enough. The behavioral nurses were supper nice! So, I won’t bad talk them…. But the rest of Mercy can go to hell for holding me against my will, and never addressing my issue.

Rude and didn't listen
The woman that did my exam was the worst worker that I ever met in Mercy hospital. She was rude , didn't listen at all what I was trying to ask her, and at the end of my test she pushed me out of her office while I was trying to ask her my question. I am also employee at Mercy. She was the worst.

They even let "Her FALL OUT" of the bed
My mother had recently had a heart attack and had to be placed in MERCY HOSPITAL because she went into a comatose stage all the time she was there. I was so upset and cried a lot because she was not being properly taken care of. First of all, her hygienes were not properly being taken care of, and they had her looking SO horribly, And the worst part of it All is they let "Her FALL OUT" of the bed when there was 2 nurses there that was supposed to be giving her care and they tried to cover it up and then the nurses had the nerves to have attitudes "When" calling to check up on her and these "Was" supposed to be mature women with caring and professional callings to nursing as I thought or Just a job to wear the scrub uniforms for show as some "SO professional "DO, "and when My family called to ask many questions, it's a problem now and to be honest they never cared or thought about how the family was feeling seeing our loved one like that ,and also I wondered how would they feel if it was was one of their own, So soon after that they was READY and Shipped her OUT right away!!

I was still charged $800 even though I left
This place is terrible. The care was so terrible that I left before treatment because I felt so terrible and unsafe. I asked if I would be charged and was repeatedly assured I would not be. I was still charged $800, and they sent the bill to the wrong address, not the one on file, leading to me not receiving it until I heard from a collections agency. I would absolutely never consider returning to this place again.

Avoid
The administrative side (billing, scheduling) is horrible. I would not of my own free will walk into this hospital for help.

Hospital has weaponized billing
Surprise invoices, procedures not covered by insurance is a reoccurring theme. If you can not afford to pay thousands of extra money, stay away. Hospital has weaponized billing to keep the under earners struggling.
