14 hours in the ER nine of them waiting to see a doctor and hipa violations
I took a friend to Mercy ER in Boardman and I got the shock of my life. The worst experience ever with a hospital spent 14 hours in the ER. Nine of them waiting to see a doctor. Did not get to see a doctor put us in a step down ER passed off. A couple pills sent us back out to the waiting room. The pills did absolutely nothing and waited again to get in the main part of ER to see a doctor. Understaffed got different opinions from different people. Nurses change every 2 hours. Listened to two employees out in the hall swearing cursing about other staff members. The room was filthy. There was dirt on the floor food on the floor. The bed was filthy dirty underneath. Saw no cleaning stuff whatsoever. People sitting out in the ER, vomiting, coughing, throwing their food and drink containers on the floor. Nobody coming around to pick up anything people using blankets and then leaving them used on chairs. Nobody cleaning bathrooms, the way they categorize their emergencies is shameful it was the most disgraceful thing I have ever seen in my life and I have worked in hospitals I was appalled and we will never go back there again. They did absolutely nothing to help my friend very understaffed. Unprofessional. You could hear people's names first and last their personal information and their reason for being in the ER and having staff members yell from one end of the hall to the other. This hospital needs a serious overhaul. If you are going to have a hospital of that size you better have the staff to take care of all the people coming through your doors. hipa violations. I would never go there and I don't care if I needed emergency care or not. I would never go in that hospital and doctors in their offices that are associated with mercy health who saw my friend are no better.
