I will not be returning to Mercy West
I arrived with flu-like symptoms and was clearly uncomfortable and cold. I was seated in a chair and was not offered a blanket or more appropriate seating that would have allowed me to rest and manage my symptoms more comfortably. When I expressed my concerns to Dr. Kevin Randolph, I was told, “other patients need it more than you.” I found this response dismissive and lacking empathy, especially given the condition I was in at the time. Additionally, during the preventive care portion of my visit, the staff member assisting me displayed a similar attitude. While I understand the importance of gathering information, I was asked new and unexpected questions during a high-stress moment. When I responded that I did not know and needed time to think, the staff member continued to press me for an immediate answer, which added to my discomfort. The initial check-in staff member who took my vitals was also not welcoming. Communication was minimal, and there was a noticeable lack of basic courtesy. Upon discharge, when I asked where the exit was located, I was ignored entirely. Patients typically come to the emergency room feeling vulnerable, stressed, and unwell. In those moments, it is critical that staff provide not only medical care but also a sense of compassion and support. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Due to this visit, I would rather travel farther to receive care from a more attentive and compassionate team.

Clearly there isn’t anything URGENCY in EMERGENCY!!!!
Horrible Emergency Room! Me and my boyfriend waited for almost 5 hours in that waiting room, after 2 hours he was finally seen,just so they could make him wait AGAIN for two more hours! We went in due to swelling in his gums and nausea, claimed he had a room waiting for him but no room given during those two hours. Patients coming in and going out but we’re still sitting. When asked about the problem, finally told that their systems were down (after TWO HOURS), and they didn’t feel the need to notify anyone. Thank the Lord my boyfriend wasn’t on his death bed because i’m sure he would’ve died in their care. NEVER coming back, go to an URGENT care instead.

This hospital was one of the worst medical experiences I’ve ever had
The staff completely undermined the reason I came in and dismissed my symptoms because they didn’t consider them “serious enough.” They didn’t provide me with a gown or even a blanket, and no one bothered to ask all the necessary questions about my condition. What’s worse is that they didn’t even log any of my information properly—just asked things verbally without entering it into the system. I wasn’t given any relief medication, not even something simple for nausea. There were barely any patients in the waiting area, yet the staff still acted like they didn’t want to work or help anyone. They took a urine test along with COVID and flu tests, then sent me back out to the lobby to wait for the results as if I were already being discharged. I felt completely dismissed and uncared for. This place clearly lacks professionalism, compassion, and proper patient care. I will never come here again, and I strongly advise others to avoid this hospital as well.

I hope & pray this doesn't happen to anyone else
Nurse practitioner prescribed doxycycline, which I had stated many times, an allergy to. I was rehospitalized for 3 days w/drug induced elevated liver enzymes,severe nausea, dehydration, pneumonia & weight loss. And antibiotics WERE NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE ORDERED! Mercy West patient rep did not listen to my concerns. Sent 4 letters stating protocol was followed She also made off the wall comments, not pertaining to my situation. ie: referring to a letter I supposedly had written (never happened). Other comments were made not truthful or pertaining. Be careful when the hospital pharmacist insists upon filling your prescriptions. And be sure the discharge nurse reviews your meds. There was more concern on rating hospital staff than actually giving instructions. My knee surgery recovery was severely compromised by these errors.

Well- Never again!
A family member of mine was in the ED. She was brought in via ambulance. Her chief complaint was generalised pain, fatigue with a fever of 103.6. She was made to sit in the lobby while shivering with chills without an explanation. They did eventually call her back to be put in a room. She was told they’re really short staffed. The nurse showed zero compassion. They would not give so much as a sip of water. They gave no explanation as to the plan of care. It was reported to the admitting nurse that this was a difficult patient. Based on that report- the care received from the nurses continued with little compassion. I got the feeling they were judging her as a “drug seeker”, because of her constant complaints of needing something for pain. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of care and concern that she received.I am an ex employeeof that facility, and a very embarrassed for saying it was a good hospital.

Almost killed a family member
Misdiagnosed an obvious condition in a family member that nearly killed them. One of the nurses was coughing everywhere without covering when doing vitals.

Treated me like I was not even human, like I was in jail
I was in the hospital for 3 days on 5 north and the nurses treated me like I was not even human , like I was in jail, I mean the attitude coming from them was so poor, I’ve been in that hospital before on different floors and they have always been super nice, it was that group of nurses and nurse aides on that floor 5 north that were horrible, they take an oath as caregivers, how can they treat ppl with no respect, talk to them sideways and go home as caregivers and sleep good at night, and be ok with themselves, let me just say what comes around goes around, they will have to go in front of the big man on Judgement day. Shame on you ladies.

Will not be coming back here for treatment after the way she was treated by the ER staff
My daughter came to the emergency room 9/25/2024 around 1pm or so with her 5 month old baby girl..As a new mother she was upset and scared and they treated her and the child father like garbage..They were extremely rude especially the nurses that took her back..It was very uncalled for how they treated her..Not only that my daughter and her boyfriend heard the staff up front talking very rudely about her and her child while they were not in the same room they were also snatching things from my daughter hands...Extremely unprofessional and was like high school mean bullies..My daughter left in tears..Somebody need to go thru training again and learn bedside manners and how to treat people because the staff you all employee up there are not it and should not be in the medical field.

They don't know their own a$$ from their elbow
I asked doctors and nurses if my father in law was dying, was told "no, this man is not actively dying" he left that same day to go home on hospice and died soon after. The nurses and doctors have no common sense.
