I had one of the worst experiences of my life at Kings County
The staff were extremely unprofessional, and I often felt unsafe on the unit. Patients were assaulted by other patients, and there was a constant sense of danger. I also experienced what I felt was verbal and physical mistreatment by staff, along with intimidation and disrespect. I was admitted because I needed treatment and support, but unfortunately, I left feeling more traumatized than when I arrived. A psychiatric facility should be a place where vulnerable people feel safe, respected, and cared for. My experience at Kings County fell far short of that.

Honestly, I would recommend going somewhere else if you can
Healthcare is supposed to be about compassion, patience, understanding, and kindness in addition to providing medical care. Unfortunately, the experience my friend and I had in the emergency room at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County was the complete opposite.

Incredibly unprofessional. Never went back
Went for a first time behavioral health intake. The Doctor was late but thats to be expected. The Doctor who was supposed to see me asked the receptionist who the next appointment was. At this point in time I am seated and waiting to be called. The receptionist told her my last name (which is not Sandwich to be clear) and the Doctor struggled to say it back to her and laughed about the sound of it to the receptionist as they were both 5 feet away from me. Then the Doctor went on to introduce herself to a random lady who was in the waiting room. No lie- this woman picked a random person from the room who she thought could be the next patient instead of just calling out the patients name like any other Doctor would do. Instead, she just introduced herself and began taking the lady to the back. The receptionist stopped her and told her she had the wrong patient. Like, what in the HIPPA laws is going on here.

I'd rather die than come back here to be very honest
DO NOT COME HERE IF YOURE HAVING A CRISIS EMERGENCY. THEY DO NOT CARE this place and its staff are absolutely disgusting. i was brought in today for a panic attack and they basically held me hostage while providing NO HELP and only making my symptoms worse. the emts were so nasty and definitely racist, the security guard was rude to me from the second i got in and then she put her hands in my bag and took my pepper spray BEFORE telling me i couldnt have it. i told them i need my pepper spray and i would leave now just so i could keep it but they were disgustingly rude to me and i never got my pepper spray back. i have severe ptsd which caused the panic attack and i need my pepper spray to feel some sense of security when im outside. i told them all of this and more and they still did not care. i asked to leave many times and they told me i cant. i asked them if it was illegal for me to leave and they said no but then they had people watching me to make sure i didnt leave. im very disgusted and i’ll never come here again.

One of the worst experiences of my entire life
I have been calling to speak to my family member after staff did not give information about their health condition and was moving the patient without calling the primary care contacts on the chart. After moving the patient the doctors ignored calls and did not do as asked by the family. They are unprofessional and have ZERO human compassion. When I asked to speak to a supervisor they refused me and further tried to keep the family member “hostage” as they thought it was best, not thinking to confirm with the family.

Kings county hospital, operate like a third world country hospital
If you don't wait 10 or more hours it doesn't make sense, I'm talking the "emergency room" I don't think they know whats an emergency.

He's just laying there in the hospital bed in pain
There is a young man in this hospital. Since Sunday June 09 2024 he got hit by a car and he broke his hip And every single day this hospital is canceling his surgery. He is in a lot of pain to the point where he cannot take it No more and no Doctor is coming to speak to him.
