Absolutely Appalling Experience – A Hospital in Decline
If I could give zero stars, I would. My mother was brought into this hospital on a Friday morning after a fall, and what followed was a disgraceful display of negligence and disorganization. She was left in the ER until midnight—yes, over 12 hours—before a room became available. During that time, they performed X-rays and claimed nothing was wrong, until we had to point out the obvious bruising and swelling. Only then did they “discover” broken bones. How does a hospital miss that? She was eventually moved to a room in Building A, and while the room itself was spacious, that’s where the positives end. The nursing staff was inattentive, rarely checking in, and blatantly disregarded the doctor’s orders. On her final day, a nurse actually asked us if my mother had taken her medication—shouldn’t that be in the chart? Their response? “We think she did.” That level of carelessness is terrifying. She was supposed to be up and walking as part of her recovery, but that would have required a nurse to assist—something that clearly wasn’t a priority. When she needed to use the restroom, she waited over 45 minutes for help. That’s not just inconvenient—it’s inhumane. And don’t get me started on the food. Meals took hours to arrive, and when they did, they were cold and unappetizing. For a facility that once had a solid reputation, this was a shocking fall from grace. To top it all off, I hear they’re building a cancer treatment center here. If the level of care in that facility mirrors what we experienced, I fear for anyone who walks through those doors. Cancer patients deserve compassion, precision, and urgency—not the chaos and indifference we endured. This hospital used to be our go-to. Now, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Do your research and go elsewhere. Your loved ones deserve better.

Be careful about the billing
I have been asking my bill statement for about six months via phone letters and in person as well. But they refuse to give me. And now medicredit contact me to make me pay. In the first place I don't refuse to pay, I was constantly asking. But this bunch of dumb stuffs put me in this position because of their problem which is not to give me or sending me a bill statement letter.

You should avoid this hospital if at all possible
This was far and above the absolute worst stay in a hospital that I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing. I was only supposed to be there for a 23 hour observation following a total knee replacement. NO doctor ever came to see me until 48 hours later. During that time, no one ever iced my leg. By the end of day 2, my leg was so swollen, I couldn’t move it. The swelling also caused my leg to be covered in blisters. Finally, 72 hours after my surgery (that originally had a 23 hour observation period), I was released. Due to the swelling and all the blisters, my floor mat was covered in blood by the time I got home. And yes I have pictures.

My husband was admitted to Medical City Plano for face trauma due to a fall. He arrived by ambulance. Unfortunately, my husband has been to many ERs and admitted to hospital numerous times. NEVER has he been cared for so poorly, unacceptably, and even negligently. This hospital sadly lacks in ability to communicate between themselves and to patient/family. My husband was not treated with the dignity he and every patient deserves, as well. I truly believe if I had not been there to advocate for my husband they would have killed him. I will share only the most grievous of numerous incidents that occurred. My husband was taken to pre-op for surgery to repair broken bones in his face. The anesthesiologist came to give the usual pre-op information. I mentioned some of my husband's medical history. The anesthesiologist stated that he did not know this information because he HAD NOT reviewed my husband's chart. How is that even possible? DO NOT under any circumstances go to this hospital.
