The level of care my father received was unacceptable and deeply concerning
This has been, without question, the worst hospital experience my family has ever had. Most of the nursing staff treated him as though caring for him was an inconvenience, not their responsibility. The only people who consistently treated him with dignity were the custodian, the doctor, and one nurse’s assistant. My father is on strict medication schedules, yet his medicines were repeatedly mishandled — one dose was delayed by three hours, and several others were ignored completely. This is not a minor oversight; this is dangerous. With the exception of Margaret, the nurses on Fondren 12 were dismissive, unprofessional, and at times outright disrespectful. I had to request that one nurse be removed from his care because she was practically yelling at him. What makes it even worse is that my father had to endure this for seven days. If it had been possible to move him to another hospital, we would have done so immediately. The night staff was rude to my mother on the very first night, setting the tone for what became a consistently awful experience. No patient — and no family — should ever be treated this way. I am deeply disappointed, extremely upset, and expect this feedback to be taken seriously.

I will never bring any of my children back to this hospital
I took my son to the ER on Fannin street, most of the staff was amazing but unfortunately I had a horrible experience with what I assume is a doctor but she acted more like a bully, yelling at me because I was explaining my sons symptoms to her for an ear infection. I didn't get her name but I will. I cant even believe you hire people like this she was wrong about him not having an ear infection according to the doctor that replaced her.

Methodist has gone down
And this is due to quality of staffing. Many are not as qualified as in the past. Now, focus will be on discharging as soon as possible to "clear" the area. Nurses have to stick more than one try to get i.v. started. Just sub-par.

It’s almost like they created another issue to make more money
My uncle was admitted twice for several weeks each time. The 2nd floor ICU had mold all in the window of his room. He was given nutrients thru an IV that was loaded with sugar causing him to need insulin shots every meal. Worst hospital in the country.

The billing for services received at this hospital can be a nightmare
This review is for Houston Methodist’s Billing & Customer Service only. They won’t let you receive care unless you pay your estimate upfront which is understandable but good luck having them fix anything. If it’s not in their normal checklist to check it can be frustrating. My patience in trying to get a problem fixed has been going on for almost two years now.

Nurses are really unresponsive
Waiting 30 min to an hour for a response each time you call them, giving meds over an hour last, surgeons are great but maybe want to recover elsewhere

What a scam. $900 for one x-ray?
My daughter went into urgent care at Houston Methodist. Apparently it is same as emergency room at Houston Methodist. So for one X-ray need, they charged her 950 dollars with insurance plan from Aetna.

Don't go Houston Methodist if you need help
My dad got transported here from another hospital telling us they accept our insurance. Memorial Herman did not check accurately, they accept ER patients not admitted patients. Received treatment took longer than expected. Only to be told they didn't accept our insurance after that was kicked out without knowing the diagnoses, was told goodluck without any direction on what kind of doctor to see or referral. So had 0 results of any bloodwork, diagnoses from biopsy. Eventually went to Saint lukes Baylor ER, where patient care was extremely provided. Houston Methodist staff members who work in department for medical files had no idea what they were doing and was very rude. Always on their phone, had to ask to sign a documents to be released instead of offering a way to get the medical documents needed. Baylor doctors also had to call hospital to get biopsy results, that took more than 2weeks. Staff have no idea what they are doing and are very lazy to guide you in the right direction.

Why is this a one star review you ask?
Because we’re currently sitting in a hallway S for 5 hours and haven’t seen a doctor. So happy to hear about the nurses new Stanley cup though. Staff walks by and doesn’t care. 5 hrs and no doctor. Might as well YouTube how to fix yourself instead of paying your hard earned money of the dumpster fire. Also a full 12 hrs have gone by and still hadn’t seen this imaginary Doctor. Spoke with the Patient Advocate about these issues and she was very responsive and respectful.
