This hospital is supposed to be 4th in the Nation?
What a joke! They must have.paid someone off to get that award!Housekeeping Won't clean Patient's Room! 24hrs ago my daughter vomited all over her patient room and no one will even come and clean up her room! Housekeeping has come into her room and looked at it and walked out! She had surgery on Wednesday. and is trying to clean it up herself. I tried to call the Nurses Station and phone rang at least 50 times, no one answered. I tried calling the Hospitalist and they simply hung up the phone without answering. Don't go here, go to another hospital.

Says “sorry” a lot but fixes nothing
Some of the nurses were good, but overall the 16th floor yellow - which is primarily the floor for orthopedic surgery patient is horrible!! MET THE WORSE NURSE EVER on 16th. Also the system to get help if there is a problem is non-existent, or nice person who just says “sorry” a lot but fixes nothing.

Deeply Concerning Experience - I woke up during the procedure
My experience with the Ophthalmology Surgical Center at 1977 Butler Boulevard, 1st Floor, Houston, TX was alarming and unacceptable. My Dr was amazing. However, the Surgical Ctr staff displayed dismissive behavior and a clear lack of interest in truly listening to my concerns. Questions were brushed off, explanations were vague, and I repeatedly felt talked at instead of heard. For a surgical setting—especially one dealing with vision—this level of disregard is not just unprofessional, it’s dangerous. Most disturbing was what occurred during surgery. This is not a minor issue or a matter of discomfort; it is a serious anesthesia failure that no patient should ever experience. The fear, confusion, and distress caused by waking during eye surgery cannot be overstated. As a patient managing vision-related challenges, clear communication, attentiveness, and respect are not optional—they are essential. None of those standards were met during my visit. Instead, I left feeling unheard, unsafe, and shaken by an experience that should have been handled with the highest level of care. I would strongly urge prospective patients/seniors to ask hard questions and advocate aggressively for themselves.

Poor experience with the insurance verification and co-payment requirements
My wife had a routine, short outpatient procedure scheduled in April 2025. A week before the procedure they called and said our co-insurance would be $3800, which they claimed was 20% of the total cost established under our insurance. We told them to double check as we have done this before at an out of pocket around $200. They insisted it was $3800 and we had to pay half upfront or the procedure would be cancelled. We called our insurance company who agreed St Luke's was wrong. They called St Luke's but St Luke's refused to change their $3800 co-insurance estimate. Since my wife needed this procedure, we paid the $1900 (half upfront requirement) as we were convinced when they actually billed our insurance, the errors made by St Luke's would be corrected. Sure enough, we got a refund of $1700 two weeks after the procedure. So our out of pocket was actually about $200, not $3800. We were lucky, we had the money to cover the overcharge without having to cancel necessary medical care due to this error.

The Texas Medical Board will be receiving a complaint
We were having a good experience with the medical staff on our recent visit up until we had admission by “Dr” F Joudah. He was extremely rude, cut my family off as we were asking questions, told us to be quiet, he had no bedside manners, shrugged off our concerns, and shrugged off the previous ED Doctors suggestion that the diagnosis could potentially be early signs of cancer. Super surprised by that interaction that I even questioned how he is even an employee there. He was so unprofessional that I thought maybe a homeless drunk man walked in and pretended to be the Dr. I had to google this person and seems he is known to be rude to other patients. Please do better! My family and I are fortunate enough to work in the medical field so we are aware this is not how a patient or their family should be treated. The Texas Medical Board will be receiving a complaint of my behalf due to a very important blood test that the ED Dr had ordered, being shrugged off and taken out of the care plan by this man regarding my mom’s care plan.

There were so many HIPAA violations I couldn't believe it
All of my care was in the waiting room. That was where the doctor saw me and that is where I got morphine. There was a bottle with urine in it on the next seat over. Everything just felt unprofessional and I think it is AWEFUL to make patients pay $10 for parking.

As a nurse i pray i never end up here.
Wow scariest experience ive ever seen, incompetent resident er dr (kaylee might of been her name) practicing ultrasound iv on my family member and too proud to get help that she missed and never got it and walked out. Saw multiple times of contamination with the iv lines and tubing in both ER and ICU. Iv lines and dressing not being labeled that the drs question who put it in. Drs trying to mess with intubation setting but never checked that the propofol iv site was infiltrated thats why patient could not be sedated enough. Also all the er and icu nurses were not experienced enough to be handling complexity of patient all were new grads or had less than 5 years of experience. Saw multiple infection risk violations in both the er and icu and not enough support for new nurses. Why am i telling the er nurse to dose check the propofol and versed drip when handing off patient with the icu nurse, isnt that a policy? About to use central line without verifying placement. This has to be one of the scariest hospitals i have ever seen other than the oak bend which is known as croak bend. So if u love your family take them to memorial hermann med center or methodist because the incompetency and lack of training here is truly astounding. No wonder why stlukes has lost their accreditation before with CMS. I worked at harris health aka ben taub and they are alot more hygenic and safe then this hospital.

They left her with an infection after she had a kidney operation
My friend was in the emergency room and they didn't treat her and they didn't give her any medication. The nurses gave her very poor care. When they decided to admit her, it took them more than 12 hours to give her the room. She was tired and very sleepy. It's always the same in this hospital. Eight days ago she had a kidney operation and we are here again because they left her with an infection at the time of the operation. Terrible service. The staff was very arrogant.
