dis-honest nurse-staff behavior
I am a professional operator/owner of several assisted living homes in Milwaukee and Richfield. I visit a lot of hospitals and health-related businesses in my everyday position. I am well-seasoned in working and communicating with medical professionals. I have high respect for some of the Doctors and for personelle in the ER. I have just returned from the third unprofessional encounter that I have experienced with this hospital. My contact and behavior of a great number of nursing staff on the 3rd floor of this hospital, has truly left me confounded and dumb-founded. The inciting incident has shaken my trust in this nursing staff on 3 similar situations. The core issues revolve around a nursing staffer reporting an "untruth" and then, when called-out on the false-statement, this nurse's superiors did nothing to correct the situation. The first incident eventually was addressed to a mutual resolution. Unfortunately, like-incidents have now happened an additional times with this odd behavior repeating itself in near-identicle manner. When I later, calmly approached a higher hospital authority to reveal the issue had oddly repeated, the reply was to suggest that because I was returning with a similar nursing complaint, that I was being viewed as the the one at fault, simply for bringing this (quietly) to their attention. No further investigation would be given to confront this seemingly obvious transgression. As I see/saw this hospital having no real desire to look into this apparent dis-honest nurse-staff behavior any further. I am therefore left with no other real option than to alert others that they should avoid be cared for by this third-floor nursing staff or taking their loved ones to do same. I realize that to "broad-brush" paint an entire nurse staff in such a way seems unusual and unfair. Unfortunately, a good number of these nurses have been long-timers on this staff and the lead nurse Manager is the ring leader of a crew where several bad-apples have seemingly affected the majority of this staff, including the newer nursing assistants that I have come into contact with. Honesty must be respected as the cornerstone of the medical profession.
Sincerely,
Tom Hignite
