Buried my father's body without any notification to our family
My father was a patient at Grady Memorial Hospital for several weeks while being treated for Type 2 diabetes and Stage 5 kidney disease. During his stay, he received care for his medical conditions, and the staff appeared welcoming and supportive. After my father’s passing on May 12, our family was informed that we had 48–72 hours to make arrangements to move his body. We explained that we needed additional time to secure a funeral home. The supervisor of deceased affairs assured us that my father would not be moved until we finalized those arrangements. We remained in contact with the hospital throughout the process and provided updates. On May 27, after finding a funeral home to handle the arrangements, we contacted the hospital only to learn that my father’s body had already been removed and buried without any notification to our family. This was devastating and completely contrary to the assurances we had been given. What makes this situation even more painful is that the hospital was aware that I am a Georgia resident currently serving in the United States military and stationed in Korea. They knew the challenges and delays that can come with coordinating family affairs from overseas, yet our family was never notified before such a permanent decision was made. This lack of communication, compassion, and respect during one of the most difficult times in our lives is honestly disheartening. As a family, we are deeply hurt by the way this matter was handled. No family should have to discover that their loved one was buried without their knowledge after being assured that no action would be taken until arrangements had been finalized.

This is so ridiculous 8 hours of my day wasted
This is the worse hospital to go to when it come to service, the nurses, have bad attitudes, they sit around in groups of 2's and 3' gossiping about patients while you stand waiting on them to export you to where it is they are sending you, the waiting time is ridiculous, I have been here since 9:30 am, it is now 5 pm, and I still haven't been seen, and when you try to ask for help or try to find out what's going on, they get attitudes, and gets smart with you.

This place is a joke.... people all lined up in the hallway on every inch of the wall.... nobody cares I've been laying here for 4 almost 5 hours and nobody has come to see about my very broken deformed arm!!! Luckily the previous gossips hospital gave me pain medication 6 hours ago!!!! This is ridiculous so unorganized chaotic mess!!!! I had my pick here or main Macon I've always heard good things but now I'll never come back cause the ridge rudeness and incompetence of the staff is ridiculous

Bed bugs
On Saturday my father became ill and the paramedics took my dad to Grady Memorial Hospital. On Monday morning one of his nurses took me a chair to sleep on because I had been sleeping sitting in a chair. I laid down to sleep a bit on Monday night. I got up because I noticed something crawling on my light pink sweatshirt. I was shocked when I saw it was a bed bug, I told the nurse and was told the room would get cleaned and it would be reported. I went to my parent’s house to take a shower and wash my stuff in hot water. When I went back I found the room hadn’t been cleaned and the nurses were all commenting about it and laughing. When the night shift nurse came back she asked if the room had been cleaned and I advised it hadn’t. My dad did get moved to another room but I wasn’t given a chair to sleep on and the nurses began ignoring me. They would only go in to take vitals and give meds but had not given my dad anything to eat all day. Grady was not my hospital of choice, I preferred to go to Emory but being that my dad has Grady doctors I sourced him going there but I completely regret that decision.

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the level of care I received during my recent visit to Grady’s Hospital. While I want to sincerely acknowledge the professionalism and compassion of my nurse Christopher and the charge nurse on the 3rd shift—who were the only positive part of my experience - the overall treatment I received was unprofessional, inconsiderate, and unacceptable. I was at Grady from 7:00 AM until 11:00 PM and was not provided any food during that entire time. The only option offered was an old salad, which is completely unacceptable for a patient expected to wait for hours under hospital care. In addition, the lack of communication amongst the medical team was frustrating and left me feeling neglected and invisible rather than cared for. I’m in extreme pain from my surgery and they refuse to give me pain meds after i refuse to stay after not being feed after my surgery and having me in a room with someone and i felt uncomfortable! Doctor nor any nurse me to see if i was ok after surgery! Im lost at how i was treated! Patients come to Grady in times of need, often in pain, fear, or distress, and deserve to be treated with dignity, fairness, and compassion. Unfortunately, my experience was the opposite. It felt as though my well-being was not a priority, which is heartbreaking given the trust we place in medical professionals. I can honestly say that I will never return to Grady’s Hospital after this experience. I urge your leadership team to take these concerns seriously and address the lack of communication, respect, and basic patient care so that others will not have to endure what I went through. Sincerely, Lakenrick Williams
