This hospital sucks!
The workers are rude and don’t know how to treat there patients or people that are there especially the E.R nurses. The worst hospital downtown I wouldn’t recommend no one getting treated here the way these people are.

This hospital is ompletely mismanaged
STAY AWAY. These people are a NIGHTMARE to deal with. Boyfriend had to go to their emergency room. Insurance paid their share and sent the explanation of benefits showing my boyfriend owed. Grady tried to bill my boyfriend for the full amount, claiming insurance didn't pay even though the insurance company sent a check and can confirm the money was taken from their account. Boyfriend spends the next year and a half calling Grady every 1-3 months, explaining the whole situation over and over again for over an hour each time, even going so far as to calling them with his insurance on the line, trying to get them to send him the correct bill. Grady even one time sent the correct bill only to roll it back, saying it was a system error. Grady insists that the insurance needs to fix the situation so they can send the correct bill, but how can insurance fix it when Grady is the one who lost track of the money they received? Insurance faxed them all their records and Grady said it's going to take them a while to process everything. Instead of doing anything remotely competent, Grady decided to sell the (incorrect) debt to a debt collector. Thankfully the debt collector is completely reasonable, has seen the EOB, and has taken responsibility for getting Grady to confirm that they received the rest of the bill. This hospital is absolutely ridiculous and completely mismanaged. Even the insurance company and debt collector are shocked at their behavior. The insurance rep said this is the worst hospital he's ever dealt with. Congrats to the people of Grady Memorial for successfully placing yourselves in the debt of Hollis Cobb debt collection agency. I feel bad for the debt collectors.

I hope you guys go bankrupt and shut down
Thanks for making me wait outside in 40 degree weather at 3am while my brother was in critical condition because your security couldn't make up his mind on the rules! Joke of a hospital. Don't expect a single bill to be paid :)

Billing department is a nightmare to work with
The phone line can't seem to find the account. The online payment method doesn't provide enough space to input the address. Not even adding that the bills seem to fluctuate. The end result is you have to wait on hold during the busy workday to try to make the payment. Far from convenient when you have been to better hospitals like Emory.

My brother has received disgusting treatment
If I could give less stars, I would. My brother is currently in their burn unit with extensive burns, and has received disgusting treatment. In addition to his treatment, if you’re hoping to stay overnight with your loved one, forget it. They kick you out at 8, and do not let you back in until 8 the next morning. The day time nurses have been great, but the overnight nurses have 1.made him go 12+ hours at a time for two nights in a row without pain medication when he is supposed to be receiving it every 6 hours! 2. Didn’t shave the areas necessary for the skin graft, so when they pulled the tape off of him, they pulled an extensive amount of hair with it in very tender areas. Literally made him cry out in pain. 3. Did not properly clean him after bowel movements, and make him wait long periods of time without assisting him when he reaches out to them for help with something. 4. He requested a transfer TWO DAYS AGO and no MD or anyone else has been in to talk to him about it. I wish I could just transfer him myself!

Hallways have a distinct MANURE SMELL
Outside other issue, the hospital is extremely dirty. It appears to be unhygienic in nature. The cafeteria floors and tables appear not to have been cleaned in weeks. Restrooms are extremely dirty.

All I knew was that I felt like dying
I spent eleven hours in the emergency room with migraines, chest pains, fatigue, and heart palpitations. I was sent in and out of a room, just told that a doctor would see me shortly, just to have a nurse come in and take me out in less than a minute, and it happened the whole time I was there. I never saw a specialist, and my appointment was made in May. There was a woman with a dislocated shoulder crying, and not once for the eleven hours I was there did she get help. We all stared at her as she wept in pain. The place is dirty, and the homeless come in because of the cold just to have the workers call security on them, and they themselves yell at them to leave. The place is dirty and definitely not getting any better. It's not worth it. Better be safe than sorry because these nurses and everyone else are so unprofessional with everything from attending a patient to giving a simple pill and water.

I received the worst treatment I ever received on Jan 12 2024
My name is Marco Jones I’m 46 years old. I was put in a hallway in the detention unit when I was told that I was going to be in a room. I’m diagnosed with pancreatitis and I did not receive any of the fluids orally or by IV that the doctor told me that I was going to get. Why would they put patients in a area where you have criminals at? That’s not right or safe. Grady this is sad.

Heartless and unprofessional
The whole staff is rude, no compassion for the elderly. The cleaning crew doesn't clean well. The lady from the lab, was rude and heartless toward my mother who is 79 yrs old. The girl from the anesthesia team, heartless and unprofessional.
