Absolutely appalling situation.
On Ortho Drs orders (w today's MRI), I brought 87yr/old mom in to SPAH ER for treatment for fractured hip. Approx 100 ppl waiting to be seen ahead of us - Check in nurse said they don't see ppl for hip surgery, but take a number and wait your turn. Nurse advised Dr was wrong to send her in for emergency surgery "we don't do that". And refused to call Drs PA as Dr Payne advised me to request. Since there were no more chairs in waiting area, nurse told me she could stand in hall until seen (87 with fractured hip). ...Diff sympathetic nurse offered to get her a folding chair. We left. Drive to Ches or Norfolk, don't waste your time here.

Having someone walk on a fractured foot seems crazy to me….
Yesterday on 4/10/24 I went in because I was having extreme pain in my left foot and told them it hurts really bad to walk on it. When I was being checked in, the lady cut me off explaining what was wrong and just asked me to step on the scale. And idk what proper procedures are for handling people with injuries, but during majority of the visit they had me keep walking after I told them it hurts really bad to walk . Come to find out my foot is fractured & the whole time they had me walking on a fractured foot all day. Only time they put me in a wheelchair was when they put my stint on. This hospital is good about getting you in and out fast, but the things you have to endure in between that time is ridiculous.

They charged me TWICE for crutches I NEVER received
I was seen at the ER at this hospital for pain in my ankle. They offered me crutches the first visit and I declined them. I told them I had a pair at home and did not need another pair. I received a bill in the mail for guess what - CRUTCHES. I called and spoke to Stephanie the charge nurse and she advised me that she saw the note in the system that I declined the crutches and would have the charges removed. I received a reminder bill that the bill has not been paid and I called back and spoke to Amanda who again assured me it would be taken care of. I went back again for another visit for pain in my ankle. I was never even offered crutches and guess what? I just received another bill for another pair of crutches. I called Sentara and asked to speak to Amanda and was put on a forever hold. I received another invoice for both charges for crutches AND now a late fee. They are the worse!

Actively took part in sending my husband to his grave
Your facility actively took part in sending my husband to his grave much earlier than we had hoped. Had I not had a shattered wrist 2 days post surgery and 3 and 1/2 hrs from Duke he would have been there and would have been alive to see his 2 grandbabies born this month. He was merely low platelets and BP upon arrival keeping us in the ER 36 hrs before admitting. They continued to traumatize his body. Shame on thinking your facility is too good to reach out to Duke for advice on their patient. Your facility has not heard the last of me, especially after having to go to the ER for abdomen drain only to have his port left accessed from Er and having to take patient back the following day because of the ER’s nurse lack of doing a check to make sure the port that they didn’t even use was deaccessed. All around horrible experience both times in ER and inpatient. I will never be a Sentara hospital patient as long as I can help it. Go elsewhere!

BEWARE - Double bill and send you to collections
Error in automated billing software causes them to double-dip on bills between insurance providers and patients. beware double charges, they do not care and will send you to collections for something you do not owe.

They failed my husband
I took my husband to the emergency room for chest pain left arm pain headache all signs and indicators of a heart attack. We waited for about 15 max before I decided to take my husband to independence got there and my husband was actively having an heart attack. The lack of concern or care at princess anne hospital unexceptional. If I didn’t act when I did and took him else where I could have lost my husband due to princess anne negligence. I just making those aware of this hospital competency, quality of care, lack of concern because they failed my husband
