I hate coming to Jackson not only is extremely dirty hospital but has very bad reputation for being slow, rude and dirty . Hate coming here especially during emergencies because it’s like a outdoor playground no rules no cleanliness, last choice if UHealth is not available on the other hand UHealth is great clean

Do not come here unless u want to be unheard and belittled.
This hospital literally sucks, i came in by ambulance and couldn't breathe also with a history of asthma and super congested. These supposedly "trained medical professionals" told me and i quote " you THINK you can't breathe but you can " and basically explained everything as if i was overreacting when i've had a history of terrible asthma attacks for 11yrs now. The nurses were literally taking pictures instead of hearing me or from what i read, other patients as well. Terrible.

Choose between hopes/prayers and getting treatment at Jackson Memorial
When I tell you this hospital and its staff is a disgrace to healthcare, that is an understatement, and I am strongly considering pursuing legal action. I was taken to Jackson memorial by ambulance due to a suspected roofie that was slipped into my drink at a bar. I was in and out of consciousness but my friend was present and by my side the whole time. My experience with multiple traumatic examples are listed: The nurses don’t know how to insert an IV, they were extremely aggressive and would completely remove and reinsert the SAME needle into my arm after multiple failed attempts. I screamed in pain as they tried to flush my IV because I knew the IV wasn’t properly inserted, but they ignored me and kept going. This has since caused a blood clot and infection in my vein that had to be treated by the brilliant doctors/nurses at Mount Sinai. And I am still undergoing treatment for it. After mentioning multiple times that I had to use the bathroom and needed help since I was drugged and unable to walk, they again, ignored me until I urinated on myself. Since my “panic” (from being DRUGGED) annoyed them, they gave me Ativan to put me to sleep, and threw me in a dark room that looked like a jail cell, drenched in my own urine… for about 10hrs. When I woke up the next day, soaking wet and confused about where I was, I was thrown discharge papers and several pages of resources for AA, with no explanation of what happened to me and told “it was alcohol, don’t drink so much”. They aggressively removed my IV which was one of the most excruciating experiences of my life, which has since been confirmed that it was due to the reckless and inaccurate insertion, and then told to leave. I asked the nurse to send off my urine for testing since I wanted to confirm the drug that was slipped into my drink at the bar and the nurse hesitantly said “I mean… I guess we can send it off… but it’s gonna take like a week for the results.” I was clear about that not being a problem and that I wanted to proceed with the testing, and was then informed that I can access the results on my portal. I return to the Jackson 2 days later to confirm my urine was sent off, and they informed me that they threw my sample away the second I left the hospital. Because of them, I will never know. When I was finally able to access my portal, they had logged that they gave me IV fluids. That was a lie. In the entirety of my horrendous stay at this fake hospital I wasn’t offered even a sip of water. That is also illegal to log medication or treatment that was never administered. In need of immediate medical attention you could choose between hopes/prayers and getting treatment at Jackson Memorial… trust me when I tell you you’re better off praying.

I just want others to be made aware of this lack of treatment
My head has been hurting constantly for over a month with no relief. I get here have a CT. I was told I had a mass on my brain and I was admitted. I have some more test done was told and now there are 2 masses on my brain that would require another MRI so they could know more about the masses and to get more clarity as to what the masses are affecting in my brain. The Neurologist comes to see me stating the same that they needed a MRI to determine the course of care I would need. Later in the afternoon a doctor comes and tell me the MRI is canceled I can do it out patient which could take up to 6 months. I have no idea what all these masses is affecting in my brain. I have made them aware that I am foggy and my brain hasn’t been clear for some time now. My balance is off yet no further testing and they gave me some seizure medicine with no explanation about these masses on my brain and why the MRI was canceled. I will be reaching out to upper administration as well as consulting another hospital. This will not be the last of my communication pertaining to my current experience.

I would have hired a lawyer to get justice against these scumbags
My little brother was brought to Jackson Memorial after he was attacked at a concert. My mother and I found out early in the morning and rushed over. They let us in to see him. He said he felt fine. Then the doctor came in telling him he shouldn’t be able to even sit up because they thought he had a spinal fracture. And when he told the doctor he felt fine, the doctor said he should be in pain and shouldn’t even physically be able to sit up, then ushered me and my mother out of the room. They then told my mother and I that they were going to put a “Halo” on my brother. Us not knowing what that was, and being naive enough to trust American doctors, trusted them and waited in the waiting room. Little did we know, they were strapping him down on a hospital bed so he couldn’t move and getting ready to drill 4 holes in his skull. Then, another doctor looked at his x-ray and saw that he obviously did not have a recent spinal damage, but a defect from birth, explaining why he could sit up. My brother was then given an obscene bill, which he is still paying off to this day.Years later, he is still paying off the enormous bill they gave him after misdiagnosing him and torturing him for hours.

Everything they told us were complete lies from what was documented
Finally got my father’s medical records after years of requesting them. We were not allowed to see him due to covid restrictions. When we were told he wasn't doing well, we made it known he would be a DNR. When reading his medical records, it states this hospital preformed 'extraordinary measures' and were unsuccessful. He died on Christmas. Also, I will not be contacting you guys as you pretend you care. Pretend to listen to our concerns. Then write a bashful letter backing your staff up on absolute lies to protect your hospital.

My mother spent 7 days of the worst suffering imaginable here
This facility should closed its doors. My mother spent 7 days of the worst suffering imaginable at the hands of lazy incompetent nurses and uncaring doctors. The staff hid a pressure ulcer that she developed and harvested multiple organs without notifying our family because a 10 year old driver's license said she was an organ.donor. I question if the hospital and staff brought on her death for this sole purpose.

If you really hate someone take them to Jackson Memorial
JMH is as bad as all hospitals. Was told to be there by 10:30 am to start drinking liquids for an mri and three hours of sitting in the waiting room a lady brings out the first of three and doesn’t listen to what the patient has to say. Then we find out one of their machines is down but no one calls?

There’s something very wrong with this place
My sister would be alive today had I not taken her there. Her care was abuse and neglect which shortened her days. I would not wish this nightmare facility on my worst enemy. Do not take your loved ones to Jackson Memorial Hospital, especially as an inpatient.

This hospital isn’t even worth the one star
Friend got there at 3am. Just left at 7pm. No answers that she needed and only saw the doctor twice the whole time we were there. The nurses on night shift were absolutely amazing. They took great care of our friend. The nurse for day shift is an actual joke. Stayed on her phone and chitchatting more than taking care of anyone. Do not recommend this hospital at all.

My gynecological experience was disastrous!
Huge waste of time and very disappointing. The gynecologist did not perform prescribed procedure. I was never emailed a survey as I had so with every other previous service. Hmmmmm, i wonder why? Lastly, I've rescheduled with a new location.

These are things that can kill patients!
Confused my father's intake info with another patient and no matter how many times we told every nurse to change it with the correct info, we kept finding it not changed with even more things wrong. I'm talking about, allergies were wrong, then they brought up the very foods he was supposedly allergic to on his chart. These are things that can kill patients! They had a completely different reason on how he was injured on his chart--a surfing accident. My dad is 60 years old and never surfed a day in his life! Place of birth, and current address were all wrong. He's been here for over a week now and every shift change there's more info that's wrong or still not changed. It's a miracle no additional accidents have happened since we arrived. We were afraid to leave my father's side because we were afraid someone will drop the ball and further injure or, God forbid, kill my father.

No body cares for the children waiting hours and hours.
The Children Neurologist Department is a complete disaster. Horrible service and hours waiting. We arrived with my client at 9:00 am and 11:30 am nobody took care of him. The reason why it happens is because this is a community hospital and the doctor is also doing Botox. Can you imagine? This is insane. Medical Assistance is a mess here in this hospital. Do not bring your child to this hospital, find another one in Miami.

This hospital has been nothing short of a nightmare
Unfortunately, my dad has been in and out of this hospital & it’s various branches for the past month after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke. Due to the stroke he was left unable to walk, has difficulty moving his arms, and various issues with speech and sight. He was initially admitted to Jacksons ER, then transferred to the ICU, and eventually transferred to rehabilitation center about a week ago without any of the necessary medical equipment & nursing help that he will be needing to live, on a day to day basis. He was sent home & for 6 days no nurse was sent to the house to help him with basic necessities like checking for his overall health, hygiene, medicines, or bathroom support. After only 6 days of being home he had to return to Jackson Memorial, where we then discovered he was suffering from a UTI that had turned into a kidney infection, an obstructed and inflamed kidney, and pneumonia aside from his physical disabilities.

17 hours in the ER for them to fix a splint that was put on incorrectly
17 hours in the ER for them to fix a splint that was put on incorrectly and was not allowing sufficient blood flow to my fingers. They took it off and re-put it and less than 10 minutes later it was falling apart. The Orthopedic doctors fail to do simple tasks. Don’t come here.

Ripping off equipment and tossing it on his genitals and broken limb
We watched how they insulted my brother in the ICU for his size and called him “Paco” which btw isn’t his name. I’m completely disgusted and disappointed that these so called professionals have treated my brother who wasn’t able to speak for himself due to his condition and to have such nasty people in care of him is disturbing. As for the RN in NICU Michelle (floor5) who was so mean in ripping off equipment and tossing it on his genitals and broken limb, and as he thrashed in pain and shear terror bc he is sedated she did nothing to reassure him where he was and that he was ok not choking bc he was intubated and waking up to that being heavily sedated can make the patient think they’re choking. Also watching them transfer him from floor five to eight was watching clowns getting into a car, in orchestrated and chaotic, slamming him into other stretchers and almost myself got hit with one and almost hit his head on the elevator or perhaps did bc then asked if he fell on his head….. nope not one of his injuries at all unless it happened while at Jackson memorial. SMH.

Discharged with a blood clot behind my knee and needed emergency surgery
A few months ago I was experiencing pain in my left leg so severe that I couldn’t walk more than 20 feet without collapsing. After about a week of it, I went to Jackson’s ER where I waited roughly nine hours to be seen. The ER staff “conducted exams” and ultimately discharged me without any diagnosis or treatment. I knew in the moment they were phoning it in. The whole experience felt very unprofessional and slapdash. Flash forward a few weeks: It turns out I had a blood clot behind my knee and needed emergency surgery. The doctors who treated me said I could have lost my leg or died. If you find yourself in a medical emergency—and value your life—avoid Jackson’s ER at all costs. I got lucky, but I have to wonder how many people their seemingly-negligent staff has allowed to needlessly suffer or die of perfectly treatable health problems like mine. Again, avoid Jackson’s ER at all costs. And speaking of costs, Jackson is still trying to bill me thousands of dollars for this nonsense. No diagnosis, no treatment—just a several-thousand dollar bill.

Got here at 11:50pm left at 5am after never getting to speak to a nurse or doctor
Horrible service. Do not come here if you expect to be seen by anyone. None of the staff have a clue about anything, horrible communications amongst staff. Got here at 11:50pm left at 5am after never getting the chance to speak to a nurse or doctor, nevermind the fact that they were quick to ask for payment before I had even sat down in a chair. Absolutely horrible service. Do not come here.

The nurse refused to administer a portion of her medication and left
My daughter was a patient on the 6th floor west and her nurse Lisa Crum was extremely rude and racist. The nurse refused to administer a portion of her medication and left an infiltrated IV in her arm for over 4 hours while she screamed and begged in agony for the removal of the IV. My daughter was ignored and isolated by the nurse Lisa Crum and her supervisor Martine until the morning shift arrived. No patient should be physically and mentally tortured to the point where they lose hope, feel defenseless and begin to fear for their life. As a result of the horrific incident my daughter signed a AMA and left the hospital because she felt that dying on her own is more acceptable than being murder by the hospital staff.

We had to wait like an hour with my boyfriend still bleeding from his cut
What a bad experience, my boyfriend got cut with a glass and that was the closest emergency room. And what a big mistake going there, the service was really poor, it was not clean. And the worst part, we had to wait like an hour (all this with my boyfriend still bleeding from his cut), and the persona who made the stitches didn’t do it right, he seemed with no experience, he even send him to get an X- Ray to check if he had pieces of glass inside of the injury, after the stitches! Really bad, they didn’t explain us anything, DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY

This is the worst hospital I ever been to
After six hours for my son in the er when I asked what’s going on I was told they take the most critical first I saw people come after me and leave before me and my son wasn’t even been seen. It’s so unbelievable to be told my son isn’t being seen cuz to them he’s isn’t critical . His health isn’t okay and he’s sick and he should be seen regardless and they should be taking patients in order.WTH is this ?

My opinion dont go to this hospital if you have a choice
My wife was there for 10 days. With only 2 or 3 of the 7 elevators functioning the hospital is in serious need of repair. Dietary is a joke my wife did not have restrictions yet they kept sending my wife pureed food even after repeatedly asking for normal food. Food had to be brought in by family members. Physical therapy is practically non existent. They come help someone stand up and take a step or two then they leave after maybe 5 minutes. The gift shop is another joke it is never open so if you want to buy flowers or a card stop elsewhere. Then there are the lines when you arrive good luck with that.

1 star for having baby there
This review specifically for hospital staff, nurses in particularly. I had C section done in this hospital. Since I have something to compare , because I’ve experienced better service in different hospital I can point everything what they’re doing wrong. 1) nurses are lazy and rude , zero compassion to newly moms. They don’t communicate, lazy even smile a bit. I’m the easiest client you ever meet, I am nice even you’re rude, since I work in client service myself, I can call out someone who’s just not professional and lazy. After my surgery literally 6 hours, I was still in bed bleeding , still hooked with IV. My blood level was low at this time. My husband called nurse to help change baby’s diaper , where she told us (Angela name of the nurse) that “mama can do it herself”. But no one told me that I can get up , they didn’t show me or give me my hygiene stuff, they were somewhere in the corner of the room. Well I’m still in bed. You’d think I got bad luck getting 1 bad nurse… no … all of them were rude. When I was discharged this nurse kept forgetting I need discharge paper. She finally did, and gave 3 pages of paper . That’s it! They’re system is so wrong. With my first baby I was in Memorial regional . when they were discharging me they made sure they had conversation w my husband, how to take care of me after surgery. They prepped food to go so I can eat at home. They had goodie bag with all necessary items. So yeah , whoever leaving 5 stars for having baby there… sorry … you just haven’t seen better service….My doctor is the best, he was the only reason I was in that hospital. My doctor is Dana Homer.

They keep sending me the bill without explanation about what I am paying for
I have been trying to get an itemized bill after my delivery and baby care since 08/2022 and have been not successful. They keep sending me the bill without explanation about what I am paying for. I am a physician, that actually work for the JACKSON SYSTEM, and want to make sure I am paying the correct amount and dispute with my insurance if necessary. They never gave me the itemized and sent me to collection. I decided to pay regardless because obviously I don't want to go to collection but I when I called to pay and requested a new itemized bill, the customer service representative (CALLED TY,) literally told me to SHUT UP and HANG UP on me after the received the payment. What a shame.

Bad experience with the hospital
I show up at hospital ER room with strong pain in my right shoulder And chest on 1/5/22 8 am. I was there for all tests posibles last test was done around 5:30 pm and was 10 pm nobody come to me to help me with my pain I went home. I’m come back on the 6 at 2 pm I went to guess service they say they can do noting that I has to go to ER room. I went to emergency the lady at registration was shouting to me for instructions in front of everyone in the room a guy inside register me agin the did electro and ask me to wait and is 6:30 pm with my pain. 36 hours dealing with the hospital and my pain and nobody take care. I do understand is my pain but people here are totally CARELESS. Bad experience in the hospital and is no any real line to complain they can do with the patients what they want.

Upset
Not a problem with medical care. In short, I had surgery done in June, and paid my substantial portion with a credit card. In the meantime, before and after I was asked to pay for additional fees connected to this surgery. A little afterwards the indication ($1,900.00 not applied) appeared next to the record of payment on my online chart. No explanation. I just thought it was a matter of updating internal costs. One day, after talking to my insurance agent, I was compelled to ask about this, for it seemed I was due a refund. The customer service representative fully acknowledged I was due that refund. She said it would be approved in 48 hours, and the refund should be posted back to the credit card in 10 business days. Time passed. I called again. While acknowledging I was due a refund, the narrative changed to 30 days, and the new customer service representative said "I don't know why they gave you wrong information". Needless to say, no refund has posted. Honestly, while I was obligated to pay the amount on a credit card on the day of the surgery, I do not understand why does it take so long to issue a refund to a credit card. That is a 30 second operation, without any bureaucracy. I have taken credit cards in my business for over 30 days, and that is how it is. And I am also a bit put off with the fact that if I did not make the inquiry, the institution would keep my money until (and if) I went there for medical care again. And no word on paying the high interest on the credit card. Very upset.

not reccommend
Not a good experience. Did not find the nurses nor PCT staff helpful. The staff were very sarcastic and insensitive to my partner's current condition where he was unable to do anything for himself after 4 emergency surgeries in 3 days. He had not bathed for 2 days and then PCT dropped stuff for him and left when it is obvious and he said he needs help please. They did not change the dressing for his wounds and did not do checks on the machines attached to him to ensure everything was fine. He had to keep buzzing someone to come check him and they would show up 30 mins after. The machine sucking blood from his surgery site was not working and this was completely missed. I am just overall disappointed and would not recommend :-(.

another level of indecency
Unfortunately this is supposedly one of the better hospitals in the South Florida area… I beg to differ… Coming from DC I’m used to the worst conditions in public hospitals and this is another level of indecency. Lack of communication, lack of time management, lack of order of operations among staff, carelessness regarding information that needs to be passed along for the sake of efficiency / time and proper care and management. Understaffed.

Disappointed
My wife went in for a double transplant on Dec 8th Liver and Kidney hoping to get her life back and instead it has turned into the worse nightmare of her and our lives here we are 45 days later after several surgeries and many complications too many list. We find ourselves frustrated and feel abandoned by the people who are supposed to help us communicate and represent us since we can’t be there with her. I need to know how to escalate it and get in touch with someone that could actually help us I’ve already tried with the social worker and Case manager. The commutation from the medical team is horrible. I do have to give all of the wonderful nurses in the ICU and Post op unit the ultimate shout out especially Rochelle, Christina, Mo, Justin, Edwin, Sergio they truly go out of their way for my wife and very kind to us as they understand what the family is going through also. I’m extremely disappointed and and at a total loss.

Have to be dying to matter
it seems that I’ve been here all day now my back has started hurting and I have A excruciating headache it’s one of the worst hospital visits I’ve had. It’s seems like you have to be dying or close to it to matter to the nurse or doctors. They not one the same page because 3 different doctors came to tell me the same thing but nun of them gave me anything to help the situation. I came at 2 and I didn’t leave until 11 and they didn’t give me anything to help while I was there I say there crying because I really don’t feel good and so it like at this point I would rather treat myself at home than to go to a different hospital because I’ve wasted my whole day to come and go with more problems than I came in with. I’ve sat there watch people get checked in the er and leave, they came in after me so what the big deal
