It was the worst experience I ever had
Once I was in a regular room on 5th floor my experience was not pleasant. The bed did not have a fitted sheet to start. Bathroom was full of mold. There seemed to be a nursing shortage. Communication between radiology staff and myself was very poor. I have been a patient in many hospitals and must say it was the worst experience I ever had. Staff was nice just shorthanded. Lastly I had 2 pieces of jewelry go missing while my husband went through valet parking at emergency room

My basic rights to a bathroom and privacy were over looked
Wow, was put in a room with no handicap bathroom or shower (was wheelchair bound before arriving) and asked to simply not shower for weeks and to just poop in bed when I am capable of using a toilet. The 5th floor staff was born in a barn and cared zero about any privacy at all and repeatedly left lights on and the door open.

BE CAUTIOUS AND BEWARE IF YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH!!!!
Grandfather suffering a heart attack and has been in icu for 3 hours with no rn or doctor have come to check on him since he's arrived from the hospital in Sandlake Rd. hoever is assigned there today is not doing their job. Orlando Health are all about profit and don't care about patients. They appear to be constantly neglecting patients and don't pay nurses well so nurses end up leaving causing the floors to be understaffed. A previous visit, a doctor walked in to the wrong room about to perform a catheter on my grandmother. Then when asked why, the dr and some nurse THEN decided to ask if this was X patient. Which it was NOT. The two quickly turned around and didn't even apologize. My grandmother would have had something completely wrong done to her if nobody was in the room with her. IF YOU WANT PATIENT NEGLECT EXPECT IT HERE!!!!

I have been waiting 2 months for Risk Management to return my several calls
Please read my review from July. I have been waiting 2 months for Larry Rodriguez in Risk Management to return my call (several calls). ORMC is responsible for the misdiagnosis and improper discharge of my mother who passed away on July 20 2024. She passed away 3 days after they kept pushing to discharge her or remove supportive measures. They discharged her to long term care 90 minutes from Orlando. I asked ORMC to help cover her funeral expenses. They declined. Risk management will ignore messages and blame the patient. She was never properly diagnosed for the original underlying condition that led to this. They wont release her records unless I hire a lawyer and im trying to support myself and my kids and pick up the pieces left. He doesn't understand why she can't come home. I cannot care for him out of state while he waits there unwilling to abandon her but not understanding her condition due to dementia. I filed a complaint with the state. Just asking them to take responsibility for the role they played in my mother's death. They are continuing to buy new facilities while I struggled from TX to plan and pay for my mother's funeral and get her body moved back to Orlando. I had to wait almost 2 weeks to bury her as I scraped together the funds and made sure she was honored beautifully.

Totally disgusting experience
With exception of the 7th floor, worst experience of my life. Trauma unit a total nightmare. ER NOT MUCH BETTER. what kind of hospital admits you with no bed, no room. I laid in your trauma unit 12 hours soaked in urine. At some point I was given a sandwich that was three days out of date.

My Mother had a horrible experience and I will speak on her behalf since she no longer can
My mother passed away on July 20 2024. She passed away 3 days after they kept pushing to discharge her or remove supportive measures. They discharged her to long term care 90 minutes from Orlando. I am now trying to take money out of my home to pay for her $10k in funeral expenses. She was never properly diagnosed for the original underlying condition that led to this. My mother went here on Christmas day. They tried to amputate her toes, told her she had a bone infection, then discharged her without telling next of kin. Her discharge instructions do not match discharge diagnosis nor do they say anything about a bone infection. Her discharge instructions discuss the risks of stroke. She was not properly educated on risks of hypoglycemia prior to discharge since she kept telling us the chief complaint was a bone infection. She is not diabetic. When I spoke with the hospital they downplayed the hypoglycemia since she was stabilized. Also shes legally blind and the instructions are not in large print. They would leave her food tray and not tell her and take it away without her eating because she couldn't see it. One night they took her tray that had been sitting for hours to warm up and never returned. She had not eaten. I called up and the floor rang 10 times each time no answer. I called the operator. He couldn't get through. After he called the charge nurse, and house supervisor with no answer he had to reach out to the hospital administrator just so I could ask them to please feed my mom and put up a sign that she is blind and cant see her tray placed at the end of the bed or hear well. She would call up crying about how horrible and mean the doctor was to her that wanted to remove her toes. (There is no sign of a bone infection now) Im out of state and couldn't get her moved. Four days after they discharged her she went into a coma and sustained severe brain damage from metabolic encephalopathy which is the same reason she was hospitalized on Christmas day. They did not safety discharge her and explain risks of permanent brain damage or death from her condition. She is not diabetic and has not experienced this situation before in her life and would not have known the risks. The hospital wont return my calls or take responsibility. My father with dementia lost his caregiver and he keeps waiting for her to come home so they can be together. I had to have him go to skilled nursing to keep him safe since he doesn't want to leave the state. They wont release her records unless I hire a lawyer and im trying to support myself and my kids and pick up the pieces left. Her long term medical care and the care of my father needs to be covered. He doesn't understand why she can't come home. I cannot care for him out of state while he waits there unwilling to abandon her but not understanding her condition due to dementia.

Am I being charged for this torture?
This has been the very worse hospital experience I have ever had. I am 74 years old. I have never been treated like this. I have been here one week. It is a miracle I am still alive. I have been jerked around by nurses that are in training. I have had my arm sticked 10 times just to have blood drawn once. I did not authorize anyone to let me be a stick pin. I have not been kept informed about my conditions. It is so scary. It is not right to treat people worse than dogs. I am so disappointed with this entire process. HELP!

4 days straight to the ER for the same issue
This is my review after having gone 4 days straight to the ER for the same issue. Doctors here don’t listen or care. Not sure what they took an oath to when they got their little licenses, but they must have forgot. All they do is try and mask the problem/symptoms instead of getting to the root of it and resolving anything. The doctors at ORMC will say things like “my hands are tied” or “that’s all I can do for you”. And let me tell you none of them did anything at all. No testing, no bloodwork, or imaging (even though they have the equipment). If all you want are drugs and not actually get any help- this is the place for you. Oh, also no one knows what they are talking about. I got contrasting information from all employees like if they didn’t have a training manual and they just say things to make you “feel” better or like you’re getting help, but most of it is not true.

Charging me for services never provided
I blacked out at work and not from heat exhaustion. Paramedics showed up and said I may be having a heart attack. I didn't want to pay for the $5000 ambulance drive so I called my fiance and she drove me there. We got there and they made us sit in the waiting area for over an hour, with my chest hurting and heart palpitations every few seconds.. then took us to a room and did 3 tests pretty quickly. So then we sat and waited for the result. And waited and waited. 4 hours later someone comes in to bill me out and kick us out. I NEVER talked with a doctor and NEVER had my test results explained to me. I got ZERO answers or help with my health concerns and now they are billing me and my insurance $5000 for this?!?!? I've called twice now for an itemized bill and I've received NOTHING except rude customer service people over the phone. Especially Jordan. He had no sympathy or care that I was never seen by a doctor or got no answers. I've since gone to a cardiologist and have found that I DO have problems with my heart. No thanks to ormc. I'll be contacting my insurance to let them know you are charging them and me for services never provided.

I waited in distress from 9 pm to 4 am before they saw me
The ER department is horrible!! I went there 5/30/23 at 9:10pm with sky high blood pressure trouble breathing and feeling as if I was going to pass out my vitals were taken and that nurse wanted to have me seen quickly or given fast pass she went to get permission or to ask another nurse for the ok that nurse came out didn't even go over my symptoms or vitals just looked at me and said NO! I did not see a nurse or doctor until 4:15 am!! I was in distress and a person came in with a toothache and was given a fast pass another person came in sat for a few laughing and talking in no signs of discomfort bur was given a fast pass while I waited shaking shivering and crying. I will not advise anyone ever to go to ORMC ER department I know I will never ever again

Worst patient care
This hospital stay was the worst from the perspective of patient care. The reasons included: being forced to sleep the first night in a room not air-conditioned, despite requesting it be fixed 2 times. Moving to uncleaned room where the previous patient just vacated. This room remained uncleaned until I complained twice to use the shower after my heart surgery. The nurses then proceeded to laugh and talk all night. I got no rest for two nights. Orders for the surgery were not in the computer, which delayed everything. I was not on the doctor’s schedule the following day for follow up. The only reason I came to this hospital was dr. Bello.

Go anywhere else
This hospital is straight trash if you have an option go anywhere but ORMC downtown Orlando They are uncaring borderline rude And could care less about the overall well being of the patients in their care this is horrible if this is the American health care system we're all in trouble.
