My mom passing away due to negligence, and they didn't even call us to inform us
This place deserve negative zero stars, my mother was brought there Via ambulance insistence, during the beginning of the pandemic. We requested for her to go to another hospital. the staff was rude and even though we understand it was a hectic time and they were severely understaff. People were only calling to check on the well being of their love ones. My mom passing away due to negligence. , and they didn't even call us to inform us we had to call to inquire how she was , and we were told that a "RN" forgot to call us and inform us. We were then rudely told that our mom would be placed in a freezer truck if we didn't come to get her. Could you imagine?It was devastating enough to find out that we had lost our mom but then to be treated that way by this so called facility. We called and placed numerous complaints.And all we were told was that there was no finding.. Upon requesting my mother's medical record, we came to realize that my mom basically suffocated to death because no one was monitoring her on a bypap when she was finally discovered, the machine. was off her face and it was too late to resuscitate her.. But again. They claimed no wrong findings. That place was put there in the heart of a black neighborhood to.Give the worst healthcare

The emergency room was disgusting not the waiting area after you get admitted once I got admitted I ran out of there. The nurses were sitting there on their phones

It’s easy to get in but hectic to get out
I volunteered in this hospital months ago and I have to say this was the WORST place to even volunteer. Very rude medical professionals to work with and they DISRESPECT the living crap out of the patients. There was so many fights between the patients and professionals it was a war show. Very nasty environment as I wore gloves and a mask to make sure I don’t get sick in that damn hospital. I only came here because it was very close since I’m not getting paid to get more hours and it was just best to go nearby. Other than that this place is BAD. Glad it was over so fast.

This is the worst the hospital in Brooklyn
It's hard to believe a hospital could be like that. The staffs super unprofessional and neglect their responsibility. The staffs (especially nurses/clarks) are always yelling at each other and patients This hospital is so dirty and unhygienic that it feels uncomfortable to be there.

I regretted choosing this hospital everyday STAY AWAY!
Terrible facility, if you care for your family and/or loved ones, don’t let them come here. I was self-admitted dealing with depression. My mind was in a bad place and my stay in the psych ward was terrible and didn’t help in anyway. The staff is worse than unprofessional, they’re straight up rude, disrespectful and demeaning. They’re supposed to be considerate of the patients’ conditions yet everyday they would be antagonizing patients that are obviously going through a tough time. Many times I’ve seen them outright laughing at and making fun of the patients. Even snapping and getting into arguments to the point of threatening to fight them. Any grievance you have with their treatment goes in one ear and out the other. Also extremely unsanitary. There was old, dried food and feces on walls that were never cleaned. There were also roaches crawling around and the food was terribly bland and served in small portions. The only way to pass time without your mental state degrading even further is watching tv and even then workers frequently act like they can’t find the remote. I regretted choosing this hospital everyday of my stay and even now I get stressed remembering my experience there. The only silver lining I can find in it all is that I went through it to prevent anyone else from having to. STAY AWAY!

I take out the intravenous line in my arm myself.and left
The attention is very poor, I really would not recommend it. I wish more people knew this and never have to go to this hospital ever again. I was in too much pain, hours passed and they simply did not attend to me, the doctor disregarded me and nobody cared, I simply had to leave barely able to walk and take out the intravenous line that I had in my arm myself.

Hospital needs new nurses, doctors, new management, and renovations
I was recently here all I can say this is one of the worst hospitals in nyc. I was in so much pain I had to wait to be checked by a nurse! All the staff are unprofessional! The hospital itself is EXTREMELY DIRTY I was disgusted to even walk around and use the restroom just nastiness this hospital needs new nurses, doctors, new management, and RENOVATIONS. every inside seems old even the chairs! The ambulance took me here cause it was close to home

I came to visit my mother in hospital, only to see the filthy conditions of Brookdale Hospital. The board of the hospital should be fired, and or sued. I was appalled with conditions they’ve left my mother. I hear the complaints of the nurses however it is not the entirely nurses fault or responsibilities. Let’s shift blame towards the careless doctors of Brookdale hospital. Just because we live in urban area doesn’t mean we should be receiving poor treatments in poor and filthy conditions. Chief of hospital needs to do more if not quite and let someone bring productive changes to the hospital and hopefully turn those poor reviews around!! Start cleaning house with the board and CEO.

My dad got bed sores here

Horrible hospital
The entrance to the emergency room, trash all over. Had to wait and go thru triage to get a pass as a visitor. Not a good experience. Emergency room was out of order with employee yelling with visitors. Unprofessional. Horrible hospital.

I do not recommend.
The hospital smells horrible. My grandmother went in to get a blood clot removed from her head and that went fine but then she had to get one removed from her leg (mind you she was talking and moving around Just fine for the first surgery) now after the second surgery she wasn't responsive and they went telling us why. They weren't putting her on blood thinners or anything like that, she died 2 days later. I literally heard a doctor call the place "the death hospital" while taking care of my grandma. I do not recommend.

Don't give a damn
Brookdale is absolutely unbelievable. Nasty ghetto nurses and nursing staff, clinical staff who clearly just don't give a damn. Filthy patient rooms and bathrooms. Semi or non- working equipment. I'll equipped doctors and residents who clearly couldn't do a residency anywhere else. I am lucky to have gotten out with my life being that my cancer treatment started there, I had no prior hospital experience and had no idea what to expect. One would assume that there are standards necessary to maintain an institutions stays as a hospital... it's hard to believe after having been treated here. Avoid at all costs under all circumstances.

I do not recommend sending your loved ones here!
Every time my mother has to come to this hospital it’s just pure nonsense. Zero communication between staff so nothing is timely. Some of the doctors are good and others are horrific! You have to continually ask for information that otherwise should be given to you freely.

Waste of time
Transferred from KBJ to Brookdale due to needing surgery. KBJ did everything, tests, blood work, spoke to surgeon at Brookdale, etc. He said everything was good to go. I knew I wasn't going straight from the ambulance to the OR, but neither did I expect to be laying on a gurney in the ER hallway for 4 hours. Brookdale ER doctor arrives and she wants to order the same test and blood work that was already done. I'm over it, so I left, fever and all. Went to NYC Presbyterian, got there by 9am was in surgery by 6 and in my bed by 830 pm.
